Hello! Hoping someone can help me authenticate these cuties. I picked them up at a garage sale this Summer. I don’t know anything about the style name for either one or a more accurate time frame than “vintage!” Just want to make sure they are worthy of the near-heart-attack of excitement I had when I saw them at the garage sale ...

Apologies that the measurements may not be super accurate, both bags are VERY smooshed and thus a bit misshapen.

Will put each bag in a separate post.

First one
Item Name (if you know it): Possibly a Pocket Flap? Or Convertible Clutch? Or Pocket Purse? Would love to know for sure though!

Link (if available): n/a (in my possession from a garage sale)

Measurements: 11” x 7.5” x 3”

Strap
  • Drop about 21 inches
  • Total strap length about 50 inches (including clasps)

Thank you!!

Genuine Convertible Clutch, style 9635, late 1980s

Actually, I think it’s Everett, the smaller bag similar to Quincy.

You're probably right, sorry. The tape measure threw me off. While the seller's other info such as the bag being from the 1980s and this odd statement that I stll don't understand might be questionable "1980s Vintage Coach Small Crossbody Bag. I used handbags.lovetoknow/designer-handbags/coach-purse-serial-numbers to identify this bag. 0017-371" I was putting too much faith the the length shown by the tape. Apparently Coach was measuring length at the bottom that particular year, their catalogs list 4 1/2 by 4 3/4 as the official measurements. I didn't even pay attention to the strap..

Please authenticate this small Coach business card or credit card holder. Got it from thrift store but I could not find something similar online to see if it is authentic Coach. Measures 4 inches long, 3 inches tall, 0.75 inches deep. Did not see any style no.
Sorry. I am new to the forum. Don't know how to create a new post. How do I create a new post? Thank you for your help.

Hello - I am new to this site/forum, so please forgive me if I do anything incorrectly. I read the forum rules and will do my best. I received a Coach purse as a gift with no tags attached, and in a Christmas gift bag, from my boss. I would like to have this purse authenticated. I have attached photos. Thank you so much.

It's authentic and is called an embossed card case (probably from about 10 years ago) but I can't find a style number.

This is the correct place for authentication requests. You don't need to start a new thread.

Small items like that are very hard to authenticate because there aren't many details to get wrong. But I'm a bit uncomfortable about the uneven stitching in places (genuine Coach stitching can have wobbles too!), and the stamp on the back looks a little crooked, and so does the stamp on the front in the last photo. I'm not sure why there even would be Coach stamps on both sides, although I'm not familiar with newer styles. Please wait for more opinions.

ETA - Never mind
, I see BeenBurned already has it handled.

I thought it was okay. I've never had the leather version although it looks like the matching piece to a coin/key case I do have.

These are some pictures of a similar signature item, style 60161 mini sig card case and IMO, the details are correct, including the double snaps.

Hello! Please authenticate, I have this in my possession.

Item: Convertible clutch
Seller: dar.kada.fudodmm
Link: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/401845710163

Comments: I have another convertible clutch and I noticed there are 2 lines of sewing / thread above the zipper in my already authenticated clutch. That one is from 1999 so perhaps (I hope) this olive is just older and slightly different in its construction with only the one line of threading.

Thank you!

JUST A HEADS-UP TO ANYONE WHO MIGHT BE TEMPTED TO USE THE ADVICE PAGE THE ORIGINAL SELLER OF THIS BAG MENTIONED IN HER LISTING - DON'T !!! IT'S LOADED WITH VERY BAD INFORMATION, THE DATES ARE AS MUCH AS TEN YEARS OFF, IT LINKS TO OTHER GENERAL ADVICE SITES THAT ARE ALSO WAYYYYY OFF-BASE, AND EVEN THOUGH SHE LINKS TO THE OLD AND NOW VANISHED SALEAREA GUIDE ON COACH SERIAL NUMBERS, SHE IGNORES ALL THE INFORMATION POSTED THERE ABOUT SERIAL NUMBER DATES AND INSTEAD COPIES A VERY OLD AND TOTALLY WRONG GUIDE THAT APPEARED ON ANOTHER WEBSITE IN 2007 AND THAT I EVEN POSTED CORRECTIONS TO WHEN I FOUND IT.

The "guide" written by Ketura Persellin, "Image Consultant" posting on the LoveToKnow site should NOT be relied on especially for older or vintage Coaches. Her guide also recommends an authentication service which we DON'T recommend and which has "authenticated" at least one FAKE Coache for several Goodwill stores and their website including fakes that a simple Google search of the serial number would have pointed to as known and confirmed always-fake numbers, and we have a copy of their authentication certificate to prove it. I won't mention the name because the forum software here is set up to block it, but just remember that if the authentication site includes the word "FIRST" it should be the very LAST place anyone should ever go for any Coach authentication.

This is just one example why I'm such a fanatic about avoiding and ignoring those full-of-BS "authenticity guides", most of them are not only useless but actually dangerous to use.

Hi authenticators,

I see what I'm 99% sure is a fake "sport coach" bag on shopgoodwill:

https://www.shopgoodwill.com/Item/74847257

Have you contacted shopgoodwill to remove fake bags before? Did you just message the seller

Edit: Because they don't claim it to be an authentic Coach bag is it still legal to sell it?

Shopgoodwill only accepts reports from members and even if they remove the item, they re-list it a few weeks later. That's why we aren't recommending them. But in this case since they're not claiming that the bag was made by Coach and there are no visible Coach marks on the bag, it's actually legal for them to sell it, although I'd call it deceptive if they don't clearly state that the bag was NOT made by Coach. As for the "NEWYORK" under the SportsCoach name, the bags came from Korea, NOT NYC.

NO "Sportscoach" bag is ever a genuine Coach. It was a Korean company that hijacked Coach's name back in the mid-1990s, and when Coach sued them they had to file their suit in a Korean court to try and protect their trademarks. As has happened in almost every instance of Korean companies trying to hijack Coach's name, the Korean courts found in favor of the Korean companies. Surprise surprise.
