FOR MY FELLOW AUTHENTICATORS-

Can anyone figure out why a third of the listings that show up when I search Ebay for "coach 36876" are for completely different styles? Is Ebay just re-naming any listing with the word "tote" in the description as a City Tote? Or is this their "suggested" title when someone lists anything as a tote? It's a bleedin' MESS, there are bags made over 10 years ago that are using that style number in the description!

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=coach+36876&_sacat=11450
and

WTF is going on ???

I noticed that too. Probably a lot of sellers are just copying other sellers' misinformation.

I Googled Coach F36876 and fell down a rabbit hole of confusing and inconclusive information. Googling 89532147199 (the UPC code on the price tag) was not much help either.

Then they're totally blind, most of those mis-described bags don't even come close to looking like a City Tote. There are going to be some PO'd buyers when some of those bags finally find homes. I was trying to find a genuine 36876 creed photo to help with the post right above mine and found one NWT with THREE different style numbers, in the listing heading, on the price tag, and on the creed patch. How can people be so clueless? :confused1:

(Yep, I know that's a rhetorical question. Or are most of them fakes?)

Hi all, can someone advise me if this Sig City Zip Tote is indeed authentic? Thank you!

Wait for more opinions but I'm seeing several MAJOR red flags there. The price tag doesn't look right and there are several items that I've only seen recently in known fakes especially from Japanese sellers. The creed patch is raising red flags too.

There also isn't any photo of either the "Made in ..." tag or the other tag with 2 lines of production codes. Post Number one of this thread tells you where to look for them.

Was this from Ebay, and was it Ebay US or from some other country? I'm not getting any record of the listing in Completed or Open listings. Please provide the URL and the seller's name, which is required information as stated in Post Number One. If that bag is fake, I hope you can get your money back
I agree. No recent bag would come with the registration card. Note that there is only room for 7 digits. That service hasn't been available for decades. The other card is copyrighted 2004. It looks like the seller put in as many props as possible to fool the buyer.

Hi , Someone gift it to me for present so I do not know the seller neither the URL.

Is that means that the bag is fake with all that? Because the material it seems fine & nice.
But I have doubt when I saw there is no Creed, Made in tag, and the odd typewriting price tag.

Thankyou for your reply

If there really is no stamped serial number or "Made In ..." tag or 2-line tag with the production codes that's usually buried deep inside the inside zip pocket - you may have to urn that pocket completely inside out and actually feel along the seams - then it's almost certain it's fake. As I said, other details in the photos would make me really worried anyway which is why we always need to see the original listing. Where did you find that the listing number was 889532147199?

Whateve explained what some of the other red flags are in her post. That registration card hasn't been used in maybe 15 years, but we just saw a few of them in a bunch of obviously fake Disney and NASA wallets from recently-registered Japanese sellers so that to me SCREAMS "Fake". Those fake Registration Cards were being included by Chinese fakes manufacturers long after Coach stopped using them. There are other bits and pieces that don't belong in a recent style either.

As Whateve pointed out - "No recent bag would come with the registration card. Note that there is only room for 7 digits. That service hasn't been available for decades.". Coach serial numbers changed from 7 to at least 8 digits in 2004 when Coach added a second number to the year code.

The 2004 card has a typo, the word "lozebge" on the bottom line, and the word Coach isn't centered inside the lozenge.

Good catch!

And when was the last time or year (or decade!) that we were actually able to sign up to get catalogs mailed to us?

Anyone?

Beuller ???

Also that card wasn't even used in 2004, I doubt if it's been in use (if it's even legitimate, it's been a long time since I ordered from the full-price stores) for more than maybe 5 years?

The more that a fakes maker tries to convince buyers that a Coach is real, the more likely it is that it's fake.

It's fake.

I have bought myself a Coach bag in Official Retail store in my country and I see there is a creed, and all of that.

But this time , someone give it to me as a gift and they said they buy it from the Premium Outlet.

I have no idea what the listing number is, I thought the listing number is the one on the price tag. I am very sorry for my mistakes if I am putting the wrong listing number.

It has the same number of digits as an Ebay listing number so that's what I thought it was. I'm glad you didn't pay any money for it, but there's not much you can do with it, except just use it until it falls apart. I don't know what country you live in, but in the US, selling it or trading it would be illegal even if you disclose that it's fake. Other countries have different legal codes but most governments also have anti-counterfeiting laws that forbid the selling of fakes.
