What do you mean by rare fastener?
The button/keyhole closure?
Yeah. Apparently it was only used for a while because Dooney & Bourke accused Coach of copying theirs, so after that all Savannahs were made with a turn lock. I remember reading about it somewhere on tpf and shortly after I came across this red one which I grabbed. I haven't seen many with this closure since.

(I suppose it is really a hobo because it has that strap over the top)

ETA: found it! I really must get a life!

Cool! I love your bag. I have a definite weakness for red handbags!

So......:happydance:
I ended up with these two bags. I had my eye on them before the posting came out.
My question now is about the Sheridan bag. It has a really long strap, like a cross body.
The adjustable strap drops 21-25". Not a hobo. Measures 12" x 9" x 3.25".
Is it a hobo???

Yes, it's a Hobo. It was called a Hobo because of the shape of the bag, not the length of the strap. There are several older styles with long straps that Coach called Hobos. "Hobo" was and is a specific shape with a curved top.

That is, without a doubt, the ugliest bag i have ever seen.

Ever.

Hyacinth has told its story well.

Can see the noisome swamp murk gurgling as it closes over it. And burps. Noisily.

Actually I'd have to disagree just a bit. My nominee is another one - actually 2 - of the pics I posted. You really need to see the entire set to appreciate true ugliness AND tackyness. The pink Foach-eating plant is at least trying to be a Coach. I have NO idea what this THING is trying to be:

Clearly the "designer" (using the term loosely) was not of the less is more persuasion...

I have no idea! LOL.
Thank you!

For sure! That one doesn't even merit the title of "Foach" - "Roach" is a lot more accurate. :graucho:
