@jillhives - Your quote got screwed up so I'm not sure what you're referring to. Are you asking about the fake backpack on Poshmark from seller flashdeals?

For starters, compare the creeds (esp. serial number/fonts) of flashdeals's fake to this one from the same month/year/plant.

Thanks! yes, I'm just trying to learn more about how to identify fakes in the unlined classic styles (my faves). So I don't have to buy y'all so much! :)

Thanks! yes, I'm just trying to learn more about how to identify fakes in the unlined classic styles (my faves). So I don't have to buy y'all so much!

Please PLEASE don't try to do your own authentications though. Some fakes are easy to spot but others require information about things like the correct plant codes or fonts that can only be found by refering to a large photo library. And what's "correct" for some classic and vintage bags can be totally wrong for others.

I know it's hard when you're standing in a thrift shop or a garage sale and looking at what seems to be the bargain of the century but sometimes you just have to walk away especially if the seller or store doesn't have a full refund policy.

Welome to tPF!
1- FAKE. Problems with the serial number font. the dowel, and that much too shaggy interior among other things

2- genuine, probably a style 9620 Compact Pouch from the late 1980s

3- the seller doesn't show a clear readable photo of the creed stamp and serial number so there's no way to accurately authenticate it. Please read post number One in this thread for a list of necessary photos, a clear creed and serial photo, if the bag has one, is usually very important and I can't recommend buying a Coach without it.

Hello, ladies.
If you have time, please help me autheticate this Coach Swagger. I bought it via online shop and when I look into the serial number, it's F12111. As far as I know swagger is not sold in the outlet so I kinda doubt it's genuine

Thanks so much for the feedback! Sorry-I didn't realize the 3rd link didn't have a picture of the creed stamp. I requested a picture, and she added it. Here's the link:

What do you think about this one?
Item: Court bag
Link: https://www.shopgoodwill.com/Item/69895885
Seller: https://www.shopgoodwill.com/portland
It can't be authenticated without the seller showing the full creed AND serial number.

Did you notice this in the listing? (Apparently, not all "shopgoodwill" stores follow the same policy nor the law! They need to be enlightened!

"We do not verify authenticity of items. We do our best to identify all items, but cannot guarantee accuracy. We review materials used, maker’s marks, and quality of manufacture to ensure that our listings for designer items are accurate. Unless otherwise stated in the listing, items do not come with official certificates and will not include documentation. You are bidding with this in mind."

Welcome to TPF!

Please post a link to the online shop from which you bought the bag as well as the seller ID, both of which are required as per post 1, page 1 of the thread.

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg At your convenience , please authenticate. Purchased at a flea market recently.
The base is approx 7” x 3 1/2” and approx 4” high
There are no pockets inside. If authentic, any idea if this is vinyl versus coated canvas (just guessing)? Or the year it was made so I can see what I find out in the wayback machine? Ty in advance.

Genuine. I actually had a smaller cosmetic case (or maybe wristlet?) in the same pattern and fabric and I'm not sure of the material, probably nylon with some kind of plastic or PVC coating to make it water- and makeup-proof. It might have been an outlet-only item (what we refer to as MFF - Made For Factory, which is usually what that small dot on the Made In China tag means), so it might not be in the Wayback. Give me a while and I may be able to find the name. It may have been from some time around 2008-2010 give or take a year.

ETA - Here's a similar one, maybe you can compare them and see if it's the same as yours.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/NWT-COACH-...257576?hash=item5b2647b528:g:MLcAAOSw~OVWxcGy

I think "Bandana Wristlet" is the name in my files for the one I bought. The above seller actually has one with a tag but didn't bother to take a photo of the tag - I HATE when they do that! - but I guess Bandana is the pattern name. She lists the style number as 8815. At the top of this post is a pic I saved in May 2008 from a highly trusted seller who had it listed as style 8815.

ETA - and a different listing showing only the top of the tag with an FS8815 style number, no name but the description includes - #FS8815 SMCWT SV/Multicolor/White Lam Band Cos w/strap
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Butt...441443&hash=item25fe2ca047:g:23IAAOSwTfFbMxra

So - Laminated Bandana Cosmetic w strap ???

Is there anything else you need besides the style number, name and date? (Sorry, no price that I can find)
