  • Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:

BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.
  • Front of item
  • Back of item
  • Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
  • Made in tags (when available)
  • Measurements
  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.

All three are genuine. Looks like you're a fan of the Small Flap - it's big brother the Large Flap is my favorite Sonoma style, both the smooth grain and the Nubuc. Good choice! :smile1:

Actually I love most anything Sonoma, especially anything from 1996.
Not familiar with the Large Flap, but am sure I will be before too long!;)

Hi - I just received what I think is a fake Waverly tote in black, so please confirm.
It was purchased in a group auction. I don't think you will need more than the few photos I am putting up, but let me know if you do need more of course!

Interestingly, this style seems to be faked a lot! When I was looking through active listings to compare one of the first ones I found was this one.

Unfortunately the style number for the Large Flap, 4903, has also been used in thousands of fakes as part of the infamous NT-4903 fake serial number, so you really have to be careful when looking for them. The Nubuc version is 4935. If you're looking for a similar style to the Small Flap but want more room inside, you may want to look at these. Any -4903 should always be carefully looked over and authenticated.

Yes, fake. This is a popular style so it was faked a lot.
Yours has the fake creed number and font, and the zippered pocket with the frame around the zipper, rather than having the zipper go all the way across.

Fake. Invalid serial prefix, too-short inside pocket zipper, and the red one has the same problems..

I love that style! I have a nubuc but I can't find a natural grain in a nice color for a good price. They don't get listed often enough.

Yep, I've been lucky and have found the Naturals in Tomato and the dark green, can't remember the color name. It seems like the Nubuc styles had more color variety and are easier to find especially during warmer weather. I wish they would have made some of those nubuc colors like Grape, Slate, Berry and that pretty dusky Rose shade in the Natural Grain too.
