We've had a lot of new posters here lately, so just wanted to post a refresher on some of the Authentication Thread Rules from Post number One:
  • Authenticators are not required to answer every request and it is their right to ignore a request that is not in the proper format.
  • Please note that comments on price and condition are NOT permitted.
  • Do NOT PM an authenticator or moderator to request authentication. Any and all such requests should be posted in this thread.

Another point for EVERYONE including all new members and posters to keep in mind which might not be clear
unless they've read the FAQs and Terms And Rules of these forums:

Linking to a poster's own listings, whether obvious (listing has the same ID or name as the poster) or not so obvious (different ID, etc) is absolutely forbidden by Forum Rules. It's considered self-advertising and can result in anything from a warning to an outright permanent banning from the forums:

"Self-promotion. Self-promotional links to your blog, social media channel, product, business, etc. are limited to your forum signature and your Profile Details. You are welcome to embed images from your Instagram feed in your posts and share them with our community. Gratuitous linking to your blog is not permitted.

Shilling. If you pretend to be a consumer who recommends your own product(s)/Service(s) or favors your own product(s)/service(s) over others, without admitting your affiliation, you will be banned. Vendors who post in threads only to criticize a competitor's product while promoting their own will also be subject to account termination..."

And another point that's not mentioned in the official Rules - an occasional "thank you" if and when a poster has been helped is NOT against the Rules.

It looks good. I wonder why that person didn't think it was real.

Probably because there's no serial number on the creed.

I'm not quite sure, but I agree it could be due to absence of the serial number and also maybe because most other pouches and cosmetic bags from that period have at least tiny Coach logo somewhere outside, but not this one. Also, although I haven't dealt with too many vintage skinny pouches before, none of them had a creed... a chunky one did though.

Thank you for your swift responses ladies!

My Berkley chunky cases with creeds didn't have a stamp on the front.

Exactly. Those with creeds usually don't have the logo on the outside, and those with the logo on the outside don't have creeds. I think those with creeds were generally made later.

May I please request an authentication for the following item currently listed on ebay?
Item: Coach Vintage Leather Handbag Dark Brown Creatures Garconne (what the heck? Probably a copy n paste remnant from another of the seller's auctions?)
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/163609470279
Item number: 163609470279
Seller: carolleska
Comments: please let me know if the pics are inadequate, I can request more, but it the meantime do you see any red flags? I have already submitted an offer but haven't heard back yet. It's a low offer as I haven't yet recovered from my last purchase..... :-s

THANK YOU!!

Wow, thanks! I appreciate the fast response!
You're welcome.

I have no idea what significance "Creatures Garconne" is but she certainly KWS it! A search of her current and completed listings shows that the word is in the titles of 63 completed listings and 12 current listings! (And she'll be in trouble if someone reports the key word spamming.)

That is really strange. I'm very curious now why she would do that.

Creatures of Comfort, La Garconne, Totokaelo, Steven Alan, are all boutique fashion stores in New York. These names appear on many of her listings.
That's how much (or how little) I know!

JMO, but I don't think those names belong in the titles. I guess she could say (in descriptions) that they were purchased from (whatever store).

If those stores have websites, someone could send them emails with the seller's ID and an example of her KWS if reports to Ebay don't have any effect. I'm sure retailers' names aren't allowed in the listing titles (I've never seen a Coach listing with "Macy's" or "Nordstrom's" in the title) especially if there's no apparent connection to the seller's listing(s). Do those NYC boutiques even sell pre-owned handbags? For the heck of it I Googled Creatures of Comfort and it looks like they closed up shop last December, but it doesn't sound like a resale shop!

I've seen Macy's and other department stores mentioned in the title on Coach listings many times. Sometimes department stores have Coach exclusives and the sellers may mention that in the listing.
