Dear forum members,

I am new here, so if I am posting this in the wrong place, I apologise.

I have a question regarding a coach leather jacket for men. The Bleecker leather jacket. It's been out of stock for a few years but I was able to get my hands on 2 of them, one in a dark mahogany kind of brown and the other one in a lighter fawn brown. One of them was a gift and the other one I got on eBay recently. I do have a little suspicion about the eBay one, though. Even though the original price tag seems to be authentic and the condition pristine, the leather just does not feel the same way as the darker brown color I received as a gift. The fawn coloured jacket that I purchased on eBay feels less finished and less smooth. It also looks less 'shiny', if you will, slightly more matte. Also, the inside lining of the product seems different than the darker brown jacket. Online I also saw fawn coloured jackets with the same lining as my darker brown one, which made me question myself even more.

I have taken a few pictures of both jackets, inside and outside, and I was hoping that maybe one of you could shed a little light on the matter.

All the best,

The seller's name on eBay is justijeon0.

Sure, no problem. This is the jacket that was form Justijeon from eBay:
While I'm not familiar with the actual jacket, every other version of the jacket (in the same style) shows that it has quilted lining. The jacket you bought from justijeon0 doesn't have quilted lining and that (IMO) is a big problem.

Unless you can (somehow) confirm that Coach changed the lining on their jacket, I would return. And because it's not a common item, I'm not sure that calling Coach would be apt to get you accurate answers.

Here's the jacket on Coach's (Hong Kong) website and in the enlarged picture, you can see the quilted lining.

The first one looks like a Light Tote to me too and the size and serial number format fits. It's definitely genuine from the early 1990s.

The second is also OK, and how nice to find one with the original tag and booklet! The price also fits for a 1996 bag. The Camel color from what I remember doesn't look as orange-y as some of the photos show, so if the color is more neutral don't be surprised. It will probably be close to the color in the 4th picture showing the outside pocket snap and lining. The strap may be a bit short for a true crossbody, depending on your height and what you're comfortable with. It's a great style with large useable pockets too.

Thank you, thank you!!! I appreciate your time and expertise!

I’m fairly short-bodied and 5’4” so was thinking that camel bag strap drop might just be the thing; I also prefer to wear my bags a little higher so that I am not running into things (or people) with them. I love the look of it and the pockets are a nice addition for use compared to some of the other vintage bags.

Because I have a Light Tote, I just was in the mood to check out the listing. Did you read the write up from the seller, a bit heavy on the cap lock?? I get where she is coming from, but too bad she is not a member here to be better educated about names and style numbers of what she sells.

Yeah - I almost added a caveat that I KNOW BETTER than to be taken in by shouty, even if mostly correct, seller statements-as-fact. I have a light tote already and really love the style, but so opted for a splurge on that Sonoma for my month’s indulgence in this round. Too good to pass up.

I saw this bag last minute on eBay, thought it looked okay and went ahead and bought it. Now I'm a little concerned because I see that it is a style that has been highly faked. Yikes! Did I just buy fake goods?! Thanks in advance!

It looks fine. You got a good deal - and that's why so few sellers do auctions. The bidding just doesn't go where sellers hope it will.

If the seller is willing to accept the return, that's a good first step. I do doubt that she'll burn the bag and based on her (dishonest) assertion that she bought it from Coach, my guess is that she'll probably resell it.

But since you'll be made whole, that's a good thing.

Good news - Poshmark approved the case and I'm shipping the bag back today! Thanks for all of the help everyone, I really appreciate it!!

Hi! This is my first post on PurseForum. I read PurseForum a lot. This is a big moment. =D

Good meeting everyone!

I purchased a bag on eBay within the last month. It was my first vintage Coach purchase. Well, at least it was supposed to be. I really should have had it authenticated earlier. And now looks like the bag I purchased is counterfeit?

If you could please let me know, I'd really appreciate it!

I’m posting now is because I just came across a couple of old comments here about Court bags, from authenticators. Authenticators pointed out features of the bags that showed that the bags were fake.

The bag I bought also has those same features:
- J6D serial number
- The way that the underlined "No" text is imprinted is the same as the bags that were deemed fake
- On the back of the flap, the metal for the turncock has indents
