You're welcome.

Read the first post in this thread to see what information we need and make sure to follow the format. That seller lists enough Coach to know better than to list a bag without a clear picture of the creed.

We've talked about that seller STATION_85 many times, the most recent was just in the last week or so. If there are ANY potential condition issues with any of his or her items I'd personally recommend looking for another bag and seller. See the ID This Coach thread at the main Coach forum, posts 9670 to 9677:

Something has definitely been done to the leather, that shine isn't normal for Coach leathers and the black smudge on the turnlock isn't a good sign. The serial number looks like it might start with E or F13- but thats all I can make out.

I thought it looked odd. Thanks.

Please authenticate. Thankyou. I believe this seller is on the good seller list!

Yes, it's from a well-trusted seller. Hold on for a correction in the style ID.

Sorry about that! It's actually a Pocket Bag, the seller got it right and I didn't. Style 9875 which looks almost identical to the Spectator except for having a gusseted underflap pocket instead of a flat one, which explains why the Spectator was only available for two years.

ETA -Just noticed the catalog page (1989 Fall Preview) lists SOLID Brass hardware. There was a discussion on that subject just recently in one of the other threads or forums.

Yes, it's from a well-trusted seller. The bag looks like a Spectator Bag, style number 9796 made around mid to late 1988 or 1989 since it has a gusseted front pocket under the flap, and it's genuine. Here's Coach's photo from the Summer 1989 catalog:

Thanks Hyacinth! I think I must like the shape of this bag. This is number 3! Thanks for the coach photo.

I am new at this. . .do you authenticate after you have the winning bid?
From following the forum, I knew this was a seller that sold authentic bags. It is always better to ask before you bid. Much less trauma than bidding on a fake bag.
Plus, the authenticators will point out things you might have missed in the listing photos.

Just a quick question, were Coach bags ever made in the Dominican Republic? I came across one at a thrift store today, but didn't buy because I have never seen the Dominican Republic listed before as a place where Coach made bags.

Station bag with feet? Newer model? No creed photo.

I'd REALLY want to see a creed photo on that one. AFAIK the Station Bag never had feet - what would be the point? It's too narrow front to back to stand up on its own easily so there's no reason for them.

The only year it ever came in Purple according to my catalogs was 1993, assuming that's the original color. The seller's comment about "needing conditioner to revive the supple feel and look" indicates damaged or dried-out leather that could be from a bad dye job, or could even indicate a fake bag. And there's no mention of brass feet in any of the 1993 catalogs, or in any catalog showing the Station Bag. They could have been added by the owner but I'd really want to see a good creed photo and pics of the inside bottom panel to see if there's any sign of how the feet were attached. The hangtag is a lot darker than the rest of the bag and it looks like whatever tab it's attached to or placed close to, probably the mounting tab for the top handle, is also darker.

Newer model? I doubt it. The only other possible purple-ish color was in 2004-06 and it's much darker than that bag and would have had silver hardware. Even the 1993 color was darker than what's in those photos.

Another one with feet from same seller. Do I see grooves in the back of the turn lock?
