Hello
I purchased this Coach Rogue 1941 Western Embroidered bag in peppled glovetanned leather. Can you please take a look at the photos and let me know what your thoughts are? It has branded hardware and ykk zips. If you need more info please let me know. The eBay UK item number is 292861693854

The eBay UK item number was 292861693854
The bag looks good.

Note that zipper brand is irrelevant and unrelated to authenticity.

Next time, please include a link to the listing. Since it's not on the .com site, we not only have to do an advanced search of completed/sold listings but have to go to the UK site:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Coach-Ha...=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Hi, Anyone been having problems with selling on eBay lately? I had a buyer dispute the authenticity of a bag, so I re-authenticated it here, showing the link to the authentication to the buyer and to eBay in the subsequent not-as-described case. Nevertheless, eBay declined to honor this forum's authentication and is charging me for the return postage, as if I had sold a fake bag. WTF??? They also sent me a message pushing their new authentication service -- so maybe that's the real motive. Really unhappy with the experience.

Ebay won't accept us as authentication experts. You have to get a paid authentication from an approved service. I'm sorry this happened to you. I would call ebay and complain, but not sure if it would help.
Although there have been occasions that ebay will look at an authentication here, in cases of disputes regarding authenticity, they generally don't accept authentications from TPF or the ebay discussion boards.

However I have a couple of suggestions:
1. please post the name of the buyer because I'm sure I'm not the only seller of Coach items who would block that buyer who opens a dispute before verifying that her suspicions are correct.
2. Even if ebay doesn't reverse the return request, I suggest you call them an let them know you want to appeal and get the counterfeit ding removed from your account. You may have to submit a professional authentication so at $7.50, you can decide if that's an investment worth making.
3. an additional benefit of getting the documentation and the ding removed is that you can then get permission to relist and use the authentication as reassurance to future buyers that the bag is genuine. (Even if authentic, I'm not sure whether you're allowed to relist without proving authenticity.)

Happy new year to all! If anyone is up for an authentication:

Item: Coach Vintage Off White Crossbody Bag
Listing number: 254044633872
Seller: doodoo106
Link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Vintage-Off-White-Crossbody-Bag/254044633872
Comments: the seller had a hard time getting good pictures of the creed and serial number, and the serial number appears faded. I’m also curious about the interior zipper with black fabric (sorry, not sure what that is actually called!). In my limited browsing I don’t remember seeing one like that, so I’m a urious as yo whether that was a style for certain models.

Thanks so much for all of your help!

The bag looks fine but I don't know the name of the style.

Note that the seller isn't diligent about making sure her listings are authentic though. This listing is a fake:

About the zipper tape fabric, I was curious too, so I went looking and found a couple of examples of black tape used on light colored bags:

All zipper fabric was black or blue until the mid 90s.

It's fine. J is fine in the first digit. It refers to the month, so should appear in about 1/12 of all purses that have style numbers in the creed.

It's probably a camera bag #4012 from the Lightweights collection, made around 1990.

It's an authentic station bag made in 1995. It really looks brown in the listing. I don't think it is in super bad shape. It should recover nicely after a bath and conditioning.

I’ve never had a Coach bag until the past month. I purchased one from the outlet store and won this in an auction. An addiction has begun. Is it authentic? Welcome!

The bag shown in the Goodwill screenshots is authentic and from 2008.

In the future, refer to post 1 page 1 for the posting format. We want to see the actual link to the listing when the item is an online listing.
