Hello can you please authenticate this vintage Dinky/Penny I purchased from eBay? I’m happy with the purchase but would like it to be authenticated for peace of mind.

Item: Vintage Coach Dinky British Tan Leather Early NYC Grommets Double Strap Rare
Listing number: 302941197293
Seller: sakatoma*jr
Link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Co...197293?txnId=1568040739020#vi__app-cvip-panel
Comments: I’m entirely happy with the purchase and wanted specifically this version of the bag so that I could have the option use a longer strap or strap extender.

The Dinky is genuine, probably early 1980s.

Hello, would someone be able to tell me if this is an authentic Coach bag? I purchased this cute little crossbody at a thrift store yesterday and I keep going back and forth on authenticity of it. Also, if it is real, could you tell me the style name? Thank you!

Note: There is no style tag that I can find other than the tag that says made in China. Also, the zipper says ideal on it (I know it’s a bit hard to see in the picture)

Welcome! We don't need the zipper brand. It's authentic. I don't know the name. It is some kind of swingpack, made for the outlets. More opinions are welcome.

It looks good to me too. My guess for the name would be some varaition of "Soho Buckled Leather Swingpack".

Hello everyone! I'm looking for someone to authenticate this bag (in my possession) and also what it was called? It's bigger than the dimensions listed for the Handle Clutch style 9425 but I can't find any other similar style. Thanks!
Measures 13" long x 9" tall x 3" deep.

It's an authentic slim satchel standard 9430. The handle clutch was also called slim satchel compact.

This may not be the right thread so I apologize although I know I'm asking the right people. A woman posted a comment on an app stating that only Coach factory bags have an extra piece of leather on the handles, wrapped handles. And that factory bag's are only sold at outlet stores, Is this correct?I didn't think there was a difference but I know I have much to learn. Appreciate the help.

I have NO idea what she means by that - sounds like another piece of BS. Did you ask her to post photos of some examples? An extra piece of leather on wrapped handles??? I can't even visualise what she's talking about.

Don't ever hesitate to ask people who you think might be posting nonsense to show photographic evidence of what they're claiming. It's amazing how quickly they disappear.

And we've seen bags with factory "F" codes show up at places like Nordie's Rack and other major retailers' last chance websites, so that's another bit of nonsense. And while I've never personally seen an "F" stamped MFF bag being sold at a full-price boutique, maybe some of our fellow posters have. Always remember, "The most consistent thing about Coach is their inconsistency".

Thank you so much!, The comment was posted under this bag, I have seen this "extra piece" on many bags so that's why I asked what she was talking about. Her response was Coach bags sold at high end stores do not have this style handle and told the seller she won't buy this bag as a result. Since i'm still learning, I question everything but I feel it's important that this bit of information be squashed if not correct and why I asked. I always appreciate the information I get here, you are all so wonderfully helpful.

That's BS, plain and simple. Different bags have different handle styles, some designed as a way to make the bag "different" from other similar bags and others designed with a utilitarian or practical purpose.

In this case (and I'm speculating), the design is probably done so the bag will stay on the shoulder a bit more easily than the plain simpler straps. Additionally, the extra piece of leather wrapped around the straps adds a bit of padding to reduce irritation on the shoulders as well as to limit staining of the vachetta leather on the rest of the straps.

Various bags (and various brands) have similar wrappings around the handles and it has NOTHING to do with quality.

Can you please post a link to the blog? I need some giggles on this overcast, rainy and windy day!

ETA: This listing is for a bag from 2005 and made for the full priced boutiques and department stores. Note the handles:

Please post the seller ID and link to the online listing.

Note that Coach does make bags in the Philippines so there are authentic Filippino bags. Much of my concern is the proliferation of close fakes being sold by sellers in the Philippines.

This is so typical of Poshmark. (and had I known where the bag was listed, I would have recommended against doing business there.)

But with that said, in this case, it's the "expert" who spews nonsense.
