I think the bag in question is fine and will leave comments on the closure to @whateve and @Hyacinth.

I'm interested in opinions on this listing from buddyl5

The seller DID sell this fake:

Thank you for authentication on the Dakota. I'm very curious about the style name.

Listing #192704544845 looks fake to me. The serial number's thick font and 4S2 prefix set off alarm bells.

I agree it is authentic. I've seen it before but I don't have one in my files. Other Dakotas have similar things on the fronts.
I agree it's fake. Besides what @Catbird9 said, the style is too recent to have a unique serial number.

Yup, thanks for confirming. It looked like an "S" on the creed to me but since the seller described it differently, I wanted to confirm that I wasn't misreading.

Even if it is an S, it is in the wrong position. It wouldn't be valid for month or plant codes either. Also, there are no valid creeds from the early 90s (or earlier) made in the US that have that large 'o' in No. and the long underline.

Item name: BP SMTH Mini Skinny (Got the name from a NWT on ebay)
Bought at thrift store
Comment: Providing it's authentic, I'm wondering what the "BP" on the tag stands for and what the "B" after the style number means.

Thanks!

I'm not qualified to authenticate it, but from Googling I gather that BP means Box Program, SMTH means smooth, and the B after the style number means boxed.

The "Dakota" is actually a Sheridan. Look at the leather grain. Sheridan Shelby, style 4213.

And the "Equestrian Bag" is definitely fake and the second digit of the serial prefix is an "S". The stitching and zipper installation are total messes too, along with all the other problems.
