  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.
Thank you and be safe!

It's authentic. This bag was made before 1994 so the number is unique and has no relation to the style number. Before 1994, Coach used unique serial numbers in their bags so no two bags would have the same serial number. In 1994, they started the current system with date and plant codes and style numbers in the creed. It's a Soho Bag #4082 from the early 90s.

The pictures are dark so it is hard to see the condition. I would ask the seller if anything was used on it. You don't want a bag that has been treated with shoe polish.
The bag came in today, and I very much like it! I did ask about what was used to treat it and he said mink oil, so I thought that was ok. It just needs some cleaning. Thank you for your help!

Uh-oh...I bought this..Once I saw it in person, I am sure it's not authentic, but thought I better ask the experts before I complain and demand a refund. Prior to bidding, I checked the fake number list, the listing number, and the seller, and didn't see anything bad, so I thought it'd be ok. The tag doesn't read right because it says "This goods made of.." blah blah blah the whole thing is wrong. I couldn't see the creed clearly at the time on the site. I'll show the creed I have, and I took other pics too if you need to see the measurements and what not. I suspect you won't because I just noticed too, the hardware is silver in some parts, so whatever is on there is rubbing off.

It's hard to see how you could read any of that creed and not see a problem. Every single line is gibberish. "natural cowhide america"? "genuine leather unique system"? When a creed has incorrect spellings and punctuation or especially if it sounds like it was generated by a really bad translation program, it's almost always fake. If there's no abbreviation "No" and it only has 5 or 6 numbers, it's a Korean fake. I'm looking at the listing and have no trouble reading the creed on my laptop.

I'm not sure which fake numbers list you're using but the Daria48 list that was posted on Ebay for the last 10 or 11 years and is still available on the Ebay UK site is pretty clear
https://www.ebay.co.uk/gds/Fake-Coach-Serial-Numbers-NT-4903-and-more-/10000000002744619/g.html

and this has been part of it since the beginning:
"501-20 + all similar numbers starting with 101-, 202-, 501-, 701-, or any other group of 3 numbers with a zero in the middle, followed by 2 or 3 numbers after the dash and usually with a patch that says "made in Korea" - always counterfeit, no matter how real the leather feels.

Coach NEVER made handbags in Korea and never used serial numbers with only 5 or 6 digits like this:
"xxx-xx" or "xxx-xxx" and without the abbreviated "No." in front of the numbers. Except for a few items with 6-digit serial numbers made and marked for the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games, Coach never used serial numbers with 6 digits or less."

Hi, I am completely overwhelmed and in awe at all of the posts on here. I hope that I am posting correctly - I am not very tech savy. A local thrift has two vintage coach bags that came in and are almost identical. One is black and one is tan. What is bothering me is the straps have some type of coating on them. I have read through so many posts and have not been able to find this addressed elsewhere. I have never seen a Coach with this on the strap. Help.
Coach City hand bag 9790
What's on the edge of the strap is called edge coating. It's on newer bags. Edge coating can wear away or get breaks in it, so it isn't as durable as bags without it. This isn't a vintage bag. It is a city bag that was made in 2005. The leather is different from the leather used on vintage bags. It's authentic.

Thank you. At the time, I was on my cell phone, so it wasn't as clear, and I thought no one was bidding on it because they weren't very good pictures. I did a search on the page for 303 and all the 14s and didn't see it, but I do see that I missed that part of the group of 3 numbers with a zero in the middle. I completely did not see the omission of the No. I made sure I was looking at the same link you listed, and I am. Thank you again.

Don't bother to search for all- number serial numbers, on genuine bags older than 1994 they're unique to each bag and the only ones that would show up anywhere other than the listing you're considering are commonly used fakes like 308-9875. Even using only 5 spaces, there were a lot of combinations available to the Korean fakes makers and even those short numbers are very seldom duplicated. If you have access to a full-feature computer or large tablet, it's a lot safer if you don't make bidding decisions based only what you can see on your cell phone's screen. And read the creed as if you were a high school teacher checking it for grammar, spelling and punctuation mistakes. Or maybe they don't even do that any more, which would be a shame.

Wow, thank you so much!! I appreciate your knowledge and am amazed at how quick the response! Hope your day is wonderful!!!

DEMAND a full refund from sewingcokenut and if she gives you a hard time, open a SNAD dispute. If she wants the fake back, she'll have to pay for return shipping. (IMO, if she's smart, she'll just issue the refund and tell you to destroy and dispose of the bag. She can't resell it and I don't recommend that you (or she) donate it as it just ends up back in circulation.)

I bought this coach edie bag on poshmark, but am very confused with the creed and serial number. The creed is not stamped, but printed on. The serial number is on a little white tag inside a zipper pocket, but I can't seem to find a tag with the made in sign..... Also the leather and lining feel very different than my other coaches, the lining almost nylon like. I've googled the serial number and only other edies come up from eBay or tradesy. Thanks for any help.

Hi, I bought this coach edie bag from poshmark, and I'm just not 100 % sure if it's authentic. The leather and lining doesn't seem to be up to par. The lining is nylon like. The creed isn't stamped, it's printed on. The serial number is on a little white tag in a zipper pocket, which I've read that coach started doing in 2014, but I can't find a "made in" tag. I have googled the serial number and just a couple purses pop up in eBay and tradesy. Any help would be appreciated.
