Please follow the following requests:

• Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated by searching the seller ID and/or item number. BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.

• Front of item

• Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
• Made in tags (when available)
• Measurements
• For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
• For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
• If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.

Thank you for the link to the Legacy Thompson bag whateve. The scripted COACH round metal ring shown on the listed bag (posted below) also came along with the tag I got in - both for $7.00. Neither were on a ball chain and I didn't think they were meant to be together. Now I want the Thompson. Darn, it's not on her site, but at least not with her sold items either.

It's not a matter of thinking that you deliberately didn't follow the rules, but especially when sellers have a "history," we like to see links to the listing. Sellers with a history of listing fakes (intentionally or not) often have other fakes mixed in with their current and/or completed listings.

And if the items were on ebay, the listings are viewable for at least 90 days after the sales. Item numbers and links would show in the completed/sold listings.

In this case, it was important because the reason she decided to authenticate these items was because of a discussion in another thread about the seller, who was one of those who had listed fakes among her authentic bags.

Nice bag! My one and only genuine snakeskin Coach bag says on the creed patch that it is made of "the finest genuine snake"; since the creed on this bag says that it is made of genuine leather, I assume that it is a leather bag trimmed with snake-embossed leather, but I have never seen it in real life so I am not 100% sure of that.

Correct. Would a pilot bag have a style code ending with a P? Or is that less likely to see in the older styles?

The older serial number stamping mechanisms didn't even have any way to add a letter to the end of a serial number. That wasn't available until some time after 2000. The thing that makes us think something is a sample or pilot bag is the "A" plant code which in the 1995-98 period was often where those kind of items were made.

I'm not a fan of genuine snakeskin when it's used on parts of a bag subject to a lot of handling and stress like the handles and base of a bag. The scales tend to start popping up with use since they're only attached to the animal's skin at the front. Also since genuine python items are not allowed to be sold in California it seems like any items using real python would have to say so on the creed.

Thank you! I'm not a fan of snakeskin either. I bought a melon Rogue 25 with snakeskin handles and I couldn't get used to the feel in my hands so I never used it. I ended up selling it.

My snakeskin Coach Parker Exotics Flap bag is not python, it is made of Karung snake and the scales are smaller and they don't pop up as easily as python (at least I think so, I don't have a python bag.) I don't know if it is currently illegal to sell Karung, but if it is, my bag was made in 2008 and sold in 2009 so it may not have been an issue at that time.

Thank you, I agree! When you see embossed leather snakeskin versus genuine snakeskin IRL, I think that it is usually pretty easy to tell the difference.

I don't see any issues relating to authenticity but thought I'd mention the seller's feedback since you were the only bidder and there's a possibility you might be disappointed.

The seller has just 84% feedback with both negs indicating that she didn't complete the transactions because the selling prices weren't high enough.

I hope for your sake that she was smart enough to start the auction at what is a reasonable price she's willing to accept.
