Thank you and be safe!

Poshmark seems filled not only with fakes but exorbitant prices, sellers without any knowledge of their product (many claiming that their bags are vintage when they are recent, for example), and other evidence of untrustworthiness. The whole experience reeks of amateurism.
Agreed. Keep in mind there are a lot of sellers on the other sites that are clueless about Coach as well. There appears to varying diligence depending on the site to remove fakes. Gross ignorance, however, is our lot to bear lol.

Good evening it’s me again ::biggrin:
This handbag is already I’m my possecion but I’m curious to know if it’s authentic or not
Creed No. j1076-16408
Thank you in advance.
I have others that I found at Goodwill but I don’t want to overwhelm you all.

Please help to authenticated this bag. Thanks.

Hi everyone. I haven't purchased a coach before. I usually get them as gifts and the reputation of the person gifting they do not buy fakes. However this time round i purchased one myself and chasing for time to get this bag authenticated by 5pm Malaysian time. The seller did not upload the real bag photos she is selling but rather taken elsewhere because she does not keep ready stock items. She has personal shoppers and gets them from them. Only upon receiving the bag did i manage to inspect it but i am no coach expert. So i do need help. I do mind if the seller sells fakes but passes it off as authentic items. I do know some of the basics like the creed, stitches, zippers, hardware, the tags. But i was informed by the seller that factory outlet bags are not as perfect as boutique ones hence the lower price point. And the quality and standard differs from different coach factories. The material looks and feels sturdy though. I am questioning the authenticity because the C pattern is not aligned at the seams. The rest looks real to my eyes. I know that recent bags may not have the serial printed on the creed but on a small white tag sewn into the bag (zipper compartment for bags), the zipper may not be just YKK but there are others that coach has associated with, the tags it can be stamped in gold or embossed, etched depending on style, the dot on the 'made in tag', the consistent stitching, feel of the material. I did read alot but still i'd rather get a confirmation from authenticators in this page to calm my worries.

This bag is the Coach Signature City Zip tote model F36876 purchased at Citadel Drive and the pricetag shows a different name was an error the factory outlet overlooked as stated by the seller. Hopefully the photos supplied wil be sufficient to confirm its authenticity. It is 1.30pm now in Malaysia. I need to get the bag authenticated by 5pm today or my payment will be automatically transferred. I posted in a different thread yesterday, sorry. Thanks for the help in advance!

I found this 13139 Signature Leah Tote. The creed text matches others I've found on the internet but I'm unsure about the pattern at the front - some results on google show the Cs at the top vertical and other results show horizontal.

I hope you read this response in time to alleviate your concerns one way or the other. Keep in mind that we are in different time zones and since we volunteer our time here (without any form of compensation), real life takes precedence.

I have several comments regarding your seller and some of your own preconceived notions. The comments are in no particular order.

1. When sellers don't take the time nor care enough to show buyers actual pictures of the item, there's no way to know what you're going to receive. Unless you're buying directly from the manufacturer and the pictures are the company's own stock photos, I recommend avoiding sellers who steal others' work.
2. Generally, there are quite a few Malaysian and Singaporean resellers who buy from US sellers and resell their purchases. Some of those US sellers do give their clients permission to use their pictures on the Malaysian website.
3. YKK or any other zipper brands prove NOTHING with regard to authenticity.
4. Depending on the pattern and the pattern repeat, patterns don't always match at the side seams. As a general rule, Coach does try to have the pattern aligned as well as possible.
5. If the bag was listed online, I'd like to see a link to the listing.
6. I'd like to see a picture of the creed.
7. I'd like to see a better picture of the lining so I can see the texture/pattern.

8. The tag shown in your pictures has a higher "retail" price than others, but based on the receipt showing it was bought is California, that would explain the higher "retail" price. (MSRP is higher in California than on the east coast.)

While the pictures appear to show a bag without any obvious red flags, there are a couple of things that do concern me.
  • The style name on the tag and receipt are incorrect for the bag although the style number is correct
  • The font and UPC code on the tag look different from what I'm used to. (It could be a re-make of the tag but there are differences I've never seen.)
  • The first half of the UPC code shown on your tag is 89532 but on others of the same style, it's 88067. While I think both prefixes are Coach, I'm not sure why the same style would have different first halves.
Based on what I'm seeing and pending pictures of #6 and #7 above, I don't see anything that indicates that the bag you received is fake. My concerns are not with the bag and could just be errors.

I hope this helps.

Sorry, adding more pictures. My phone went crazy and didn't attach some of them in the previous message

While most of the listings and examples I looked at showed the vertical C pattern on the flap, it's merely coincidental. Depending on the direction of the pattern when they're cutting the fabric (pre-construction), some bags have horizontal Cs and some have vertical. The important thing on this style is that the pattern is centered.

Hi @BeenBurned thank you so much for the very detailed reply. I have asked for an extension of time to authenticate this bag, so all is good.
Could the differ in style name on the tag and receipt be a minor error since it is a factory outlet bag? I am totally clueless when you mentioned the UPC code. But i trust your judgement.

Item 6 and 7 of the creed and material of the bag lining as requested.IMG-20180609-WA0002.jpg IMG-20180609-WA0001.jpg IMG-20180609-WA0003.jpg

Thanks again!!
Hopefully you can give a final result with this.

Now that I'm seeing a picture of the creed, I'm not comfortable. I'd cancel the purchase.

I believe the creed should be stamped in gold. The stitching on your creed is further from the edges than the examples below also.

This appears to be a very scary close fake (IMO) and in fact, found Chinese websites (describing as replica handbag sites) with the same close fakes.)

Oh deary me. The fakes are getting better and takes someone like you to actually see it. To my naked eye, I wouldn't have noticed it at all. And wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

Thanks again. And will surely check with the experts first before deciding to purchase another bag online.
