Hi! I'm new here, could you please help me authenticate this bag? I'm bothered by the serial number (No. J4647-F58321) and the made in vietnam tag, on the flipside, instead of the coach, it says made in vietnam in french I think. And the hangtag is a little bit crooked.

Item Name: Coach Top handle F58321
Link: https://m.ebay.com/itm/New-Coach-F58321-F25591-Top-Handle-Pouch-Purse-Crossbody-/192145467172
Seller ID: Nycholic
Item number: 192145467172

yikes don't know what happened why the first two photos uploaded thrice, I only added them once, sorry about that. Here are closeups of the hardware and interior

First I'll rant, then comment on your item.

Had you come here prior to buying, I would have recommended against nycholic because there's no way to authenticate that seller's listings or listings of any seller who doesn't use her own pictures. There's no way to know what you'll receive because the pictures are stolen stock images or taken from other sources.

Since this is something I abide by myself, it's my personal opinion that no seller who is going to take buyers' money for highly faked (or not) items should be too lazy or unwilling to do the work involved in taking pictures and proving her own integrity plus letting buyers make educated purchases. Just because a seller has a lot of listings or high feedback doesn't mean that she sells authentic or that she's a good seller.

Now, on to your item. While I'm not as uncomfortable as you are about the Vietnam tag, what I see of the creed bothers me as it does you.

Please post a clear and more legible picture (preferably right side up) of the creed. ETA: Please also show a small amount of the lining around the creed so I can see how the creed is stitched.

Thank you for the picture of the creed.

I'm seeing the year code as 46 and that's not valid. Whether it's a legitimate "mistake" that Coach made during the manufacture of the bag is hard to say because I can't find another of the same style bag with the same mistake.

And here's another rant! I went through every current listing of style 58321 and few sellers had creed pictures. Of the few with pictures of the creeds in their bags, only 1 seller had a clear and legible one but that bag was from 2017 and have a correct year code and was not from "plant 47." (None of the other listings showed the made in tag so I don't know whether any were made in Vietnam.)

Here's a comparison of another identical style bag. It was made in a different plant. The puffiness of your creed vs. the flatness of the comp is another bothersome thing.
OTHER OPINIONS ARE WELCOME.

wow they sure look different :( the other one is so crisp and screams authentic, whereas mine look so flimsy compared to it. I'm so glad I posted here. I'll try to return the bag, even if it is an error, it really bothers me now that I saw the other photo. Again, thank you so much for all your help BeenBurned! :) :)

It's just scary how crazy fakes are becoming nowadays..before it's easy to spot a fake coach.. Now they're closer to the authentic ones :( we really have to buy at the stores to be 100% sure our items are authentic..thank you so much again!

I just want to clarify that I am NOT certain your bag is fake. My issues with the bag (and the seller) are that the creed has an invalid prefix. It's possible that it's a legitimate mistake but in the event you ever wanted to resell the bag, you could run into potential problems. Personally, a "mistake" or not, I'd return because of it. My other issue is with the seller and the fact that she doesn't do her own work. Had she posted pictures of the bags, you'd have known ahead of time what to expect, you would have seen the creed and possibly hit the "back" button, etc.

I agree 100%..I would never have settled for anything less perfect since it's hard earned money :( Yes the buyer AND seller must be both responsible and honest in their dealings..if in case it is a legitimate mistake will that be the same as the so called authentic overruns? I've seen some sellers saying theirs are like that..

I agree. I have never seen such a mistake in the year code. And I wouldn't want to be stuck with a bag I couldn't sell.

I am questioning the authenticity of this vintage red Coach bag. The creed is stamped very deep and the underscore for the “No.” doesn’t seem right. Also, I’ve never seen metal signature hang fobs before. Could you please authenticate?
https://bnc.lt/focc/ycywXVoZoN

It is authentic. That style came with a metal hangtag, just like in the listing.
While most of her Coach items seem okay, the seller
upscalefinds sold this fake for $170! (I like to believe that perhaps sellers lurk here and see the errors and respond appropriately. I know PM won't take action!)

I don't know if she actually sold it. I'm seeing 'not for sale' rather than 'sold' on the listing. It looks like someone told her it was fake, and maybe she removed it after she figured it out.
