IMPORTANT READ-ME

Please post authenticity questions related to COACH in this thread. No PMs please.
For further information, please refer to the first post on page 1 of this thread.

Please follow the following requests:
  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated by searching the seller ID and/or item number. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:
  • FOR ITEMS LISTED ONLINE:
    Item:
    Listing number:
    Seller and site where listed
    Link:
    Comments:

  • FOR ITEMS NOT LISTED ONLINE:
    Item:
    Where purchased or how obtained
    Comments:
BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.
  • Front of item
  • Back of item
  • Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
  • Made in tags (when available)
  • Measurements
  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.
Thank you and be safe!

I'm not intending to be snarky. You are requesting that we spend our free time evaluating your purchases. Because these bags are so well faked (and selling for hundreds of dollars to buyers who don't know whether they have a fake), you're expecting us to spend upwards of an hour examining minute details of the bag.

Respectfully, there are few pictures in the listing that are her actual item. Of the 9 images in the listing, only 5 might be her own and not a single one of them is clear, close or detailed enough to determine much of anything. There isn't even a creed picture.

I'm done here. Maybe someone else will be willing to help you but I don't have the time or patience to help when posters don't take the time to read the first post and post the necessary pictures if the listing doesn't have them. And then when they snap at me for being snarky, that's unnecessary and rude.

I help people on this forum all the time and I'm nice about it.

Your post did not add value and you jumped on me. I'm not sure what were you expecting if you post something harsh, you might expect a harsh post back. Now, it's the internet and stuff like that happens, so whatever.

By the way, photos would not show anything on this bag. I went through the real photos and this bag detail by detail.

And everything matches and I checked out what @houseof999 posted comparing the Rogue 25 vs. the fake on her post. The bag I have passes everything on her post.

All, I really want to know is about this white tag and what it is, since its new for Coach.

. who don't know whether they have a fake), you're expecting us to spend upwards of an hour examining minute details of the bag..

I was not expecting anyone to spend anywhere close to that much time, I was just asking for what I should look at to make sure it's real.

Um, sounds like you're asking for direct and indirect authentification information. No snark, just restating what I am simply reading in your posts.
If anyone does not care for comments posted here, there are other options. Paid authentication. No snark, just an observation.
Edited to add, these are solely my comments and do not represent the opinions of any other tPF member , thread blah blah. Just someone who is passionate about vintage Coach and this free authentification service.

I really don't believe those are it. What other pics should I take to make this easier for you?

By my bag doesn't have the flowers or anything like that. This was my first post. I just bought this at a thrift store 2 days ago... And it seems a little too real. Was just looking for some experienced advice

The wristlet in the Bonanza listing doesn't have flowers either. It looks exactly like the bag in your post, including the small suede circles with radial stitches (NOT flowers!) and allowing for color differences in the metallic areas due to differences in lighting. Go back and take a closer look.

Just curious - what does "it seems a little too real" mean?

BTW, please read Post number One in this thread for a list of what info and photos we need, and please be sure to include measurements in the future. And please use the small "REPLY" link in the lower right corner of the post you're replying to. Thanks!

Hi,
I am Ranie from Indonesia. I’m newbie in Coach bag. And I just bought Rogue 25 oxblood in Instagram. Would you please help me to authenticate this bag. I’m afraid if this bag is fake. Thank you in advance.

Thanks for the clarification. This post was very helpful. I was not asking for a service, just a little guidance. Cheers

I don't know why you are taking it personal. No one jumped on you or said anything harsh. @BeenBurned made a general statement about people buying an expensive bag that is barely shown in only a few pics. She was expressing concern, nothing else.

By the way, the comparison pictures of the 25 that I posted that you are using as a reference did take about an hour.

In the end, this is the Authentication thread where the authenticators make the decision whether the bag in question is Authentic or not based on the pics and information requested as per post #1. If you can post those pics when you get a chance it will be highly appreciated and can be helpful to authenticate other regular size melon tea rose Rogue in future.

@Galaxygrrl

I shouldn't be responding further but I will do so then I'll STFU. I've done a ton of research on the well-faked styles in the last 5 years and if I can avoid spending the amount of time some of them required for accurate authentications, my family will thank you.

What you don't realize is that sometimes, it DOES take that much time, particularly with the 1941 collection, the Swaggers, the Rogues, and quite a few other bags, many from 2013 and newer.

While there are cases where we can look at pictures and easily make the authentic or fake call, there are times when considerable time is required to make accurate determinations.

As authenticators, we realize that buyers are spending real money, (sometimes hundreds of dollars are at stake) and we don't want to make a mistake. And if you've seen some of the side by side comparisons of the fake vs. authentic items, you would see how close some are. We need to look at EVERY picture supplied by both the seller AND the poster. (And in this case, you nor the seller have shown much.) And those pictures MUST be crystal clear closeups showing stitching, logos, creeds, hardware, tags (if included), turnlocks, and every single part of a bag.

In addition to scrutinizing the listings, the bag received and the concerns, we have to confirm or deny our findings by scouring our own records of pictures and description, our word and text documents with our notes and then collect more pictures, preparing side by side docs to note the differences.

While we offer a free service here and do so because we want to help, we don't get ANY type of compensation and often, don't even get simple "thank yous" from posters. We volunteer hours and hours EVERY SINGLE DAY OF THE YEAR to help posters. Yet instead of gratitude, we often have to deal with being accused of "snark" or being accused of "sabotaging other sellers" when those sellers have fakes.

While there was no snark or disrespect intended, I was merely stating (and still feel the same way) that it's amazing that you (or anyone else) would spend over $700 on a bag in a listing where the seller is too lazy to take her own pictures of the bags she sells.

As was pointed out, there are professionals you can use and you will pay for authentications. Just make sure that the service you use has authenticators who know the brand and items they're evaluating. Some services only do certain brands and others have non-expert experts.

Good luck. I do hope you got an authentic bag.

They represent the opinions of this tPF member. Love the authenticators here!!

OK, all, I'm sorry, I just felt really jumped on by that comment. But, again, I'm sorry. My bad.

I guess my expectations were a little different that the people on this board. I've never really pop into this thread.

So, the sell offered to send me the receipt from the store (and I will get it today I assume) and I went over everything with a fine tooth comb and compared every detail of the bag and it seems to check out besides for that internal little white tag. I'm going to stop by a Coach store in the next few days and see if the beechwood tea rose rogue has the tag in it.

Thanks again everyone, sorry for being hyper.

Cheers!

It's not necessary to repost the pictures from the listing. But the listing pictures aren't adequate for authenticating purposes. Refer to post 1, page 1 for the pictures we need.

So, I bought this for $3 at a Goodwill Outlet yesterday, knowing next to nothing about Coach purses. I'm assuming this is super fake. Can someone confirm?
