You really need to read all six of the Salearea Coach Guides that I've finally posted here at tPF. Start here and read all six unless you're not interested in Italian bags and vintage leathers, then you can skip the last two:

Although that serial number has appeared in tens of thousands of fakes, it's also been used in genuine Signature Demi Pouches, like both of yours. Read the Guides.
Thank you. I've found your guides to be very helpful. What had me worried was this quote from the guide:

"Production moved almost completely to China starting in 2000 although some Business and Travel items were made there as early as 1995. All Signature C fabric bags were only made in China and the other Asian plants, and have only been made since 2000."

The brown one was made in Turkey, not China. So it wasn't the serial number but the country of production that had me worried. I'm assuming that Turkey is considered to be one of Coach's Asia plants. Thank you again.

Seller isn't representing it as Coach. She has Coach in the listing because she is including a Coach hangtag on a non-Coach bag. I can imagine some buyers would be fooled.

Look again. The "Coach" hang tag is fake.

Thank you both. I was about 99% fooled by the bag. The other 1% said, "better check!" I'm glad I did.

Very sneaky. It makes me wonder if the seller knows the bag isn't authentic. Someone did buy it (not me).

whateve, BeenBurned, and Hyacinth -

thanks for the advice! that's good to know about Goodwill shipping; it looks like they have an estimator and yeah it's higher than what I usually see on ebay/etc. I wonder if the auctions go as high as on ebay -- maybe it balances out. it's too bad about Poshmark because they always seem to have bags that other sites don't - but maybe that's because a bunch of them are fake. I just checked out Bonanza; thanks! thanks again for all of your expertise and advice!

GW has gotten much better about Authenticating .You can also email them & ask them for more pics & info. When I used to get many of my bags from them-their prices were reasonable but the shipping is ridiculous.10 bucks plus handling for a pin that weighs 2 oz-and should cost 2.66 first classto ship...
I agree its a Good Idea to combine ship from the same store. The last few auctions I've bid on went WAY HIGH but I did end up with a Better than expected bag so..I'm HAPPY! and I received an Authentication by one of the not so bad authentication companies. Not that it was needed-but what the heck? GW has gotten much better at shooting pics & taking Creed-Serial number photos.Depends on the location too

Well it's not that the bag isn't authentic. It isn't a Coach and she isn't lying about that, although she is being very sneaky. However the buyer can claim snad due to the fake hangtag if she was fooled.

Comments: I have already received this bag and it doesn't feel right and the numbers on the creed don't look right to me either. Are you able to tell if it is authentic?
If you got the bag pictured in the listing, it is authentic.

That's why the Guide says "... ALMOST completely to China". And since it was first posted in 2011, other countries in Asia have also made plenty of Signature items. Turkey is one of those Asian countries, and I think Coach still may occasionally make a few bags there, although there have also been fakes with Made in Turkey creeds.

The ONLY country AFAIK that has ever had their own name stamped in fakes even though Coach never made handbags in that country is Korea.

Is this an authentic Coach Bag?
This bag is not currently listed for sale. I believe it is a Coach Crescent Bag. The approximate dimensions are 10" x 10" x 3 " . The Creed has a registration number of 705-8224 and states it was made in the New York City USA. I have attached photographs.IMG_4224ed.JPG 5ed.jpg IMG_4240ed.JPG IMG_4244ed.JPG IMG_4225ed.JPG IMG_4231ed.JPG IMG_4239ed.JPG IMG_4233ed.JPG IMG_4237ed.JPG IMG_4242ed.JPG

Hi @Hyacinth , here you go!

But that's a different bag, or at least a different serial number and creed. I was asking about the one in post 29851.
https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/authenticate-this-coach.889527/page-1931#post-32261155

It looks like Whateve already identified it as a Zoe but I never did figure out the style number, the one in the creed picture definitely starts with 104 and was made in 2006.

Did you maybe post a creed photo belonging to a different bag? Even the hardware colors between the photo with the creed and the photos right under it are different.

@Hyacinth, yes. I posted the creed pic of the first bag. Its D1049-F14708.

What's the serial number in the creed photo - the first pic in the link that I just posted? You have 2 different bags in that post. The G066-104?? creed isn't from the same bag shown in the 2 photos right under the creed photo.

The bag with the D1049-F14708 creed is a different style and 4 years newer than the G066-104?? creed. That's what was throwing me off. The creed and serial number are really important when it comes to identifying and authenticating a Coach bag since all those numbers and letters are factory production codes and tell us what style the bag is and when it was made.
