Oops I just noticed my arrows aren't at the right place in the post above. I was pointing to the ring the leather for the key fob goes through. It's noticably larger in the tradesy one. inCollage_20180424_205223524.jpg

I don't have the bag to compare details. Please note I'm not an authenticator.. I found a sold listing which I believe is authentic and am comparing the creed of your bag to that one. Please wait for their opinion... But here are the red flags.. the font looks different to me. Also note the wording of the puffy Creed patch. This bag is clearly not made of pebbled leather as it claims. Actually it doesn't even say pebbled leather. The sentence just ends in pebble... And Coach doesn't even use that old Creed language anymore.. it's the "hug it, drape it".. see the top Creed stamp to read it all.
The pockets not being suede is another big red flag, plus the lining inside the bag also looks different and not dual thread fabric like what Coach uses. I am pretty sure it's a replica. View attachment 4045952

My Creed looks like the authentic one here. The color of the zipper is throwing me off as well as the color of the thread in the lining mine is burgundy not white.

Hey there. I'd return that bag if I were you. While it looks really good from the outside I noticed a few differences that makes me think you too are dealing with a replica.

Authenticators, please let me know if you don't want to post these as I'm not an authenticator and want me to PM the pics instead. View attachment 4047168View attachment 4047169

I can't really comment since I don't have any experience with newer styles. Both BeenBurned and Whateve have other commitments this week but they will probably still have time to comment about your analysis. I see that Whateve already has. I'm avoiding making a fool of myself by staying out of the discussion, you have a LOT more experience with newer styles than I do.

I'm just curious. TIA...

Item: RARE!! Vintage Leather Coach Men Bag Messenger Laptop Backpack Briefcase Cross
Listing number: 152997348892
Seller: immaculatewayslll (2451)

Comments: I recall reading that the "S" plant was the first Chinese facility and that they were originally limited to making business styles. That said, and though I've seen several other listings for style #0544 cases from this plant in the 1997-98 timeframe, I don't recall any of them having previously been authenticated.

Every S plant code found so far from late 1995 or newer (up to probably 2001) in business and travel bags and accessories with a Made In China creed seems to be genuine. They're all high quality bags and some like this example also have outlet stamps. So 1995 seems to be the first year Coach began producing full-size items of any kind in China. Of course that could change. Coach started making handbags in the Chinese S plant some time in the early 2000s, the earliest so far seems to be early in 2002, which fits in with the apparent plant change-over from business and travel items to purses..

The always-fake S plant codes include any handbags from before 2002, the most common fake handbag year codes seem to be, but aren't limited to, 1994, 1995 and 1996 and have Made In the United States creeds.

Any updates that can fine-tune or correct those details a bit more are welcome.

ETA - found an apparently genuine S-plant briefcase from late 1995 so I corrected the post.
