For further information, please refer to the first post on page 1 of this thread.

Please follow the following requests:
  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated by searching the seller ID and/or item number. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:

    Link:
    Comments:

  • FOR ITEMS NOT LISTED ONLINE:

  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.
Thank you and be safe!

Thanks whateve. This is the bag I own that I was most unsure about. It is impeccably made, but the leather is so much thinner than the older bags that I am used to.
The leather is supposed to be thinner. It allows it to drape better and makes it less heavy. Coach started making Lightweight bags in the late 80s, and continued it into the Soho line.

I WANT TO REMIND EVERYONE ESPECIALLY NEWER MEMBERS THAT ANSWERS TO MANY OF YOUR QUESTIONS CAN BE FOUND JUST BY USING THE FORUM'S SEARCH FEATURE. PLEASE READ POST NUMBER ONE OF THIS THREAD, WHICH BEGINS:

"Please follow the following rules:
  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information..."
https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/authenticate-this-coach.889527/
Be sure to read the entire post.

Often other answers can be found using Search. Or refer to the soon to be removed Salearea Coach Guides or Daria48 Fake Coach numbers list posted at Ebay

http://www.ebay.com/gsr/i.html?uid="salearea"&rmvSB=true

https://www.ebay.com/usr/daria48?rt=nc
(scroll down)

And another reminder about those two Ebay Guides or any others such as SacxMagnifiques on creeds and serial numbers that you want to save - Ebay is removing all of them so save them now while you can. We'll be trying to post at least the Salearea and Daria48 Guides here but everyone who uses them should save their own copy and also any other Ebay Guides that you trust.

This is interesting. So the fake bags you're speaking of have genuine leather and nice stitching, nice quality? I have yet to see a fake bag but wonder if I'd be able to notice. I've read about fake vintage bags and especially fake signature bags, but what about the leather bags that are current and current leather MFF bags? Are there any tells to watch for?

The earlier fake bags could be almost as well-made as genuine Coaches. You can never assume that all fakes can be spotted just because of leather and stitching flaws. There are no "rules" that can guide you, that's why you need to research and ask questions here. Anyone or any "authenticity guide" that posts a list of things that proves a Coach is authentic or a bunch of Rules "every Coach follows" is, frankly, full of bullcrap. Read the Salearea Guides at Ebay while they're still there, see my post above.

There are less than 5 "rules" Coach has always followed with NO exceptions, Number One being "Coach HANDBAGS and Briefcases were never made in Korea". The others that we use as guidelines have caveats and exceptions so read those 2 sets of Guides I posted to get you started, and understand that even the Salearea Guides have a few details that need to be corrected. At least 95 percent of internet "guides" are partly or completely outdated or wrong, read my Signature.

Thank you! I am learning a lot here and appreciate the guidance.

Picked this up from a friend to sell. It was her Aunts but before I list it I want to make sure it’s authentic. I could find a hot pink one in this style but couldn’t find this anywhere on the internet. Not sure of the age. If it is authentic does anyone know the name of the wristlet?

Thanks :)

It's an authentic op art sateen wristlet and here's a listing (NMA) for the same item and color:
COACH SATIN OP ART GOLD SATIN WRISTLET CLUTCH PURSE
I'm sorry but I can't find a style number. It may be 42903 but I'm not sure whether that style came in solid color or if solid had a different style number.

ETA: It may be 41987.

In the future, I'd like to see a picture of the made in tag. It looks authentic. It's part of the Madison collection.
