Thank you so much! I had one other question, is it odd the interior zipper isn’t brass? Is this a feature on later bags? I attached a screen grab of another court for reference! Thanks guys! View attachment 3986532
I don’t think so as I’ve just bought a Rambler’s Legacy, also from the early 2000s made in Costa Rica and the interior zip is plastic like on your 2002 Costa Rican Court Bag.

Coach has been using nylon zippers in some bags at least as far back as the late 1980s, to make the bags a bit lighter and to match the zipper colors to the leathers.

We usually don't consider the zipper material when authenticating because it can vary. And of course zipper brands usually don't mean anything either unless it's an obvious cheap fake with design details not used in genuine Coaches. Coach has used at least 6 different zipper brands and designs.

For classic styles, Coach pretty much switched over to nylon interior zippers around 1999, or when they ran out of the metal ones.

  • If the bag in question is not on an auction site, please use the following:

Item Name (if you know it):
    Link (if available):
Then attach any photos (all authentication must include photos.)
    • Please be sure to include a clear readable photo of the creed stamp and serial number from inside the bag or accessory if there is one, and the bag's measurements when the bag is an older or vintage leather Coach.
    • Since mid-2014, Coach stopped putting serial numbers on creeds so in newer bags where the creeds don't have serial numbers, we also need to see pictures of the labels/tags from inside the bag. They are either both in the main open part sewn into the seam of the lining, or one might be buried deep inside the zipper pocket. One shows where made and the other has a serial number.
