Hello again!
I gingerly rehabbed (dunked, stuffed, conditioned twice) the question able bag I had posted early on, (possible Tribeca M7C-9098) and in the process discovered another interesting thing, and I thought I should ask about it too.
This sheets showed under the pockets, when I lifted to scrub. They say Bontex Mori Fresh treated.
Does it change anything, authenticity - wise? :confused1:

I've never seen it before but wait for more replies, maybe Whateve or someone else has. I've never seen any sheets or additional fabric behind the pockets of any of my bags, but that doesn't prove anything.

Authentication needed at your convenience. TIA

Item: Hampton Weekend Scribble Wallet, circa 2005-2007? (Just guessing, not clue of what style is)
Size: About 5 x 4.5 inches
Link: No link, in my possession from thrift shop
Comments: I did a couple searches, but I couldn't find any wallet similar to this one.

It makes me even less inclined to think it is authentic. I've never seen anything like that. There isn't anything like that behind the pocket on my Tribeca, although it is a different style and made in a different plant.

That product is used most often in shoes and luggage to prevent mold. I can't imagine Coach would think it was necessary to put in purses, and if they had, we would see it more widely used.

I found that only one instance of coach bag and bontex mori-fresh used together, in an older post of Authenticate this coach, from 2011, and I'm afraid I have to accept it's fake.
Thank you again,
I'm off to cry in a corner.

I don't have much more to add other than to say that I had a similar Tribeca (9083) made in a different plant (D) that I just sold.

I don't have pictures of the back of the pocket but I did pull the pocket out in order to take pictures of the creed and I think I'd have noticed if it had that information.

Though I'm happy it sold, I wish I still had it to check!

@Suexilin @whateve @Hyacinth
I just went back to look at my side by side comps and noticed another "issue" with the creed.

In post #27238, the side by side pics show your creed next to another supposedly made at the same time.

In addition to the differences in the underscores in "No" the hyphen between the prefix and the suffix is a different length but most obvious is the difference in the alignment of the creed text.

If you compare the bottom lines of the creed, the period on your bag is directly beneath the "F" in of above it. In the authentic comparison, the period is closer to the N in "natural," centered in the space between the F and the N.

I believe this confirms it. The bag isn't made by Coach. If this were my bag, I'd take it back to the thrift store and demand a refund. While they may not have known it was fake, it was their responsibility to find out.

It's authentic. I'm still looking for the style number but it's similar (in design and layout) to this one, style 40527.

ETA: I think I found it!

Style 796 and I believe your timeframe is in the ballpark.

ETA Again!
Or is it 8303?

Don't worry about it. Mine is a 9083 made in the D plant, so I'm sure yours would be the same as mine, and mine doesn't have that behind the pocket.

I have a couple of comments, sans an authentication.

Based both on the issues mentioned and the quantity that wei90505 has had, I am also very uncomfortable with the seller and items but without more pictures, I don't think the wallet should be reported but I would hit the back button faster than you can say "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious."
Thank you! I don't know how I missed seeing your response yesterday. I agree with you but it frustrates me that we can't warn people!

ETA: I just looked at her sold listings. She has sold several.

Yup, wei90505 has sold a bunch of them and although we can't officially warn buyers, having the warnings and concerns posted here will help them show in google searches.

Thank you for confirming its authenticity, and the added info.

I hope you can get your money back. Although as you mentioned before, it's probably a waste of time if the feelings and laws concerning fakes aren't as strict or strictly enforced as they are in some other countries.

Since it's already protected against mold, maybe you can use it to carry your gardening tools if you have your own garden. Or if there's a little girl in your family or circle of friends who likes to play "Dress-up" and always borrows one of Mommy's handbags to complete her outfit, she might appreciate a purse of her very own.

And thanks for the information about the previous post you found about Bontex Mori-Fresh, the bag in that 2011 post was definitely fake. Good thinking to do a Search here for other mentions of it!
