Just a question, If you dont know anything about the brand of the bag, is it really possible to say that the bag you have is authentic based on the care card? Why does a bag has a care card actually? What is its purpose? Thank you in advance. :)

Hello, can you please help me to authenticate this vintage bag. Someone gave this to me because she got a new one. Thank you in advance! God Bless..

Item : COACH Carley Signature "C" handbag
# : K072610619View attachment 3775776 View attachment 3775778 View attachment 3775778 View attachment 3775781 View attachment 3775783

It looks good to me, but please wait for BeenBurned or Whateve to confirm. Carly styles (no "e") were very well-faked but I don't see any red flags. BTW, "vintage" in handbags by definition means 20 years old or older, so yours still has 10 years to go before it's technically vintage since it was made in 2007. Here at tPF we hold pretty closely to that technical use of the term.

Welcome to tPF.
That bag is authentic.

I'd like to ask if is it really needed to keep the care card of the bag to confirm if its really authentic?
Care cards, hang tags, "branded" tissue, receipts, price tags and other removable props don't prove anything regarding authenticity. It's the details of the bag (or item) itself that determine authenticity. Genuine props can get discarded or lost but worse, they can be reattached to fakes to "prove" authenticity of a fake. Additionally, all those items can also be faked and included with fake bags.

If you have a genuine Coach bag that you plan to use, you might want to keep the care card just so you know how to clean and care for it.

As I said above, the existence or lack of a care card doesn't speak to the authenticity of the bag at all. It's simply included so you know how to care for and clean your item. Some leathers and embellishments (sequins, beads, etc.) require special care and can be damaged if the wrong cleaning solution or method is used.

But even if you don't know the brand, you can post it here (or other dependable authentication forums) and find out if it's authentic. And as long as you're assured by those who know the brand, you are allowed to sell it.

Hello All, have a nagging concern about an item for auction on shopgoodwill. They assure me of its authenticity but I consider you the experts here and would feel much better if given your thumbs up. Please advise. Looks like a charm included on a BCA key fob but badging not the same. Let me know what u think. Thanks!

Hope BennBurned will correct me if I'm wrong, but ...

Coach never released those 2-dimensional charms as stand-alone keychains. They were either part of a 5-charm piece, or a single 3-dimentional charm. Give me a few minutes to check that Bag charm againast my BCA keychain. Please remember to supply a link to the original listing so we can check those details as they appear in the listing.

Those various keychains using bag charms were faked a LOT, as were the BCA charms and keychains. They should always be authenticated here before committing to buy. I'll look closely through my Keychain files and post again if it shows up as a genuine charm.

ETA - OK, it's NOT from the # 92030 BCA keychain. The Coach stamp on the back is completely wrong - size, font AND position, the detailing on the handle is wrong, and the hangtag also looks like it has the same fake font used in tens of thousands of fakes. Here's the real one, click on the thumbnails:

Thank you for your response. Link to for auction listing here:

https://www.shopgoodwill.com/viewItem.asp?ItemID=41678467

I initially voiced my concerns with item's authenticity via 'Contact' option. In response they posted a confirmation of authenticity from ****************** but despite this evidence I couldn't buy into the key fob being genuine, it just doesn't look right, and of course with the box it seemed so obvious. Makes me wonder about this ****************** service..

Hi! Can someone help me with this purse? It looks and feels fake and I just want an opinion before I return it! Thank you!
I bought it on eBay and can add a link for the auction, if needed.

It's fake. There is nothing right about it. There is signature inside and outside, which is a big no-no. It isn't a Coach style. The creed has the wrong font and an incorrect style number. Post a link to the auction and we can report it. Once it is removed, there should be no problem with your SNAD claim. Make sure you pick the reason "item is counterfeit" for your return.

I've reported it. It should be removed soon. Go ahead and open the return request. Make sure you choose a reason that the item is not as described or counterfeit so you won't have to pay shipping. The seller should refund you in full, including your original shipping. If she elects to have you keep the bag, please destroy it, as it is illegal to be sold. Don't donate it to a charity that might resell it.
