Thanks alot - I hope I did this right this time. By the way can you tell me the names too?

1- genuine Companion Bag, style 9300, late 1980s

2- genuine Legacy East-West Compartment Bag, but not "vintage" since it's only 17 years old

3- genuine Taylor Zip made in 1995

Darn it! No, I actually found this one at the thrift store in my town. I only paid about $10 for it I think..oh well..it's crazy though, really the best fake I've ever seen. They r sneaky!!

I agree, and there may even be a good chance that it's one of those "after hours" fakes that come out of China too. They're made either in the actual plant that makes the real ones but after hours and behind locked doors, or made by plant employees from easily stolen or discarded bits and pieces. That would explain why parts but not all of the creed and serial stamps match genuine versions.

Sorry we didn't have better news, but it's a good example of how complicated and confusing this can be, and why so many pictures of what seem to be minor details are so important. I'm glad you didn't spend a lot for it. Before it goes into the trash or wherever it ends up, please write FAKE across the creed patch with a thick permanent marker to make sure no one else ends up with it thinking it's real.

Thanks a lot Hyacinth for your quick response. If I linked it right, it was because I followed your advice and did it on a computer. Thanks a lot, you guys are awesome!

I'm glad it worked for you. I know tablets and smartphones are convenient for a hundred reasons but sometimes a full-feature computer is still your best choice.

And trust me on this - even with Magnifier features in "alternate" OSs and browsers, once your age starts creeping toward the Big 7-0, there's NOTHING better than a nice BIG computer screen. Sometimes the price we pay for convenience just isn't worth it.

Thankyou so much! That makes me feel better.lol here's the pic of the zipper pull you requested.View attachment 3606445

DAMN. Now that worries me. The zipper pull is wrong, it should be a single piece of metal and egg-shaped, and the ends of the leather trim around the inside pocket should be squared off and not round. See the pic below.

It may be fake, sorry. The difference in the shape of the pocket trim is a big problem. More opinions are welcome.

Did you buy it on Ebay or another online site, and do you still have the auction link or item number?
I agree it is fake. The zipper also goes to the very ends of the box. There are no zipper stops.
