Most (reputable) companies accept professional authentications from companies known to use authenticators that know their brands. (I know A4U does Coach.)

Have you already disputed this newest fake from POSHMARK and again they're insisting that it's genuine? I hope you're using a credit card to pay!

As for my feelings toward PM, this only goes to confirm and further reinforce my previous opinion. They are no better than iOffer and in fact worse since they claim items are authentic when they clearly are not!

I shall continue to not authenticate Poshmark items (unless to confirm fake) and will also recommend against doing business with Poshmark.
love your avatar puppy dog photo!

Hello all, I am new to this forum. I found this lovely leather bag at gw today and am unsure if it is at all real. what do you think?
here is a photo of one of the buckles on the strap. the bag is a little over 11 inches high and around 17 inches wide. straps are probably about 22 inches long or so. it is a very heavy bag and seems like the real deal. but I have no idea if it really is. Any help and advice is appreciated.

here is the inside of the bag, with serial number. I also tried to get a photo of the zipper pull.

It is authentic. It was called a Soho Zip Tote and was made in 1996, so it is officially vintage. Funny thing, this line was also called "Lightweights" because the leather used was lighter weight than the leather used on earlier styles.

With a style as highly faked and as well-faked as the Swaggers, I recommend extreme caution in buying online. If an online purchase is the only resort, I recommend sellers with proven histories of selling authentic items.

I also like to see a seller's history but when the seller has a private account, I can't even see their listings or history.

I also found this site for the seller but none of the listings have enough pictures to authenticate her items.

Had you come here before purchasing, I wouldn't have recommended the seller unless and until her listings had multiple pictures and were viewable to all.

So is the bag real deal or not? Yeah theyre going private on instagram :( do u need more picture to authenticate my coach? Thanks so much..

Hi all

I have an interesting one... I bought a Coach bag on eBay on 25 November 2016, which I received today. Since ordering, the seller has been de-registered and the listing is no longer accessible. I called eBay and they said this is because the seller was under investigation for possibly selling counterfeit items. I don't know whether the investigation related to Coach bags but this one could very well be a fake.

However, while I don't have a great deal of experience with Coach, this actually looks convincing if not real! The packaging looked perfect - there was plastic over the front turnlocks and zipper, there was a cut out polystyrene shaper thing and the strap was wrapped. It even has Macy's tags on it and a Macy's return slip... I'm in Australia and have never bought anything from Macy's, so I don't know if there's anyway of verifying using them.

Anyway, here are the details and photos:

Snake-Embossed Swagger 27 Carryall - Dark/Natural (eBay)
Item (from listing):
NWT Coach 38361 Swagger 27 Carryall in Snake- Embossed Leather **Authentic**
Listing number: 302137081531
Seller: ns6020 (30)
Link: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Error?item=302137081531&errid=2

Appreciate your help. If it's a fake, it's ok...I paid through PayPal so I can get my money back.

The dye color wasn't "missed". Coach often shaved down the leather along the seams to make them easier to sew. A lot of classic and vintage bags have that almost-white strip right at the seams where the dyed layer had been cut away.

It looks ok and is a Bleeker Bucket, next time please try to include a close-up of the stamping on the male part of the magnetic snap in any bag that has one.
Thanks so much Hyacinth, I always learn so much from you!
And will remember next time to send pics of all hardware.

Ugh! What a nightmare, particularly when it's an international transaction.

While I've made comments about Swaggers, how "good" the fakes are and warning buyers to be very careful who they buy from, in this case, I believe your bag is authentic.

The details look good and in looking at the seller's history, I'm guessing her suspension is a result of slow shipping, use of stock photos and not having the items in stock when listing them. It looks like she was selling items then going shopping to fill the order, a dangerous risk since items might be sold out by the time she needs it.

While she may have mixed fakes or had other questionable items or habits, I believe you did fine in your case.

Other opinions are welcome.

ETA: I found a cache of the listing from which you purchased and had you come here prior to buying, you would have been advised not to buy from that listing. There are just 2 pictures, both stolen from Coach and a description that was also plagiarized from Coach.

I agree it looks authentic. The Macy's sticker and receipt look exactly like what I have gotten from Macy's.

I've had listings or sellers get removed after my purchase, which is always disconcerting, but the items I received were fine in some cases.
