Please follow the following requests:
  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated by searching the seller ID and/or item number. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:

BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.
  • Front of item
  • Back of item
  • Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
  • Made in tags (when available)
  • Measurements
  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.

That's because the purse is fake and the serial number is invalid. THE ONLY BAGS YOU'LL FIND WITH THAT SERIAL NUMBER ARE OTHER FAKES.

Please post the information we ask for in Post number one of this thread - if you're buying the bag, or already bought it, and from where. Post the URL where it was bought from or is being sold from and we may be able to tell you how to get your money back.

I have not bought the bag yet. I authenticate them first before buying. I feel sorry for the seller. Maybe shes also a reseller who doest know she has a fake one. O well, thank you this site really helps buyers and resellers.

Maybe someone can send her the link to the Daria48 Fake Coach Serial Numbers List that's been posted at Ebay USA for years.

That number 22096-08 is about halfway down the list, which says under "Always Fake"
22096-08 and ALL OTHER serial numbers with only 2 digits at the end, to the right of the dash, are fake, no exceptions. Real Coaches will ALWAYS have at least 3 numbers at the end after the dash.

It's genuine but it's a Rambler's Legacy from 2000, not an original Rambler which has a long leather tab like the one on the Station Bags as part of the turnlock assembly rather than just a straight-through turnlock like on the Legacy style 9061. The original Rambler is bigger too. Picure below.

You may want to post the Leather Therapy sale link over at the Rehab and Rescue thread too, I'm sure some of the posters there use it.

Found this Barclay on the local site. I am hoping my deductive skills are better now!

"Vintage Tote Shoulder Bag"

Vintage Shoulder Tote/Shopping/Briefcase Bag/Purse 9896 by Coach. Barclay brown in heavy glove leather. Shoulder straps are 31 inches long. Shows some minor stains, scuffs and wear but is actually in good overall condition.

No idea. According to the 20 or so posts about her and her possible alternate ID in several of tPF's Coach forums, she seems to get a lot of keychains that we seldom or never see in the US, apparently collected when she lived in Japan. It's almost impossible to authenticate non-US styles unless there are obvious mistakes.
