We got this bag for my daughter at Buffalo Exchange, a used clothing kind of place in town, a couple years ago for about $20. Wondering if it's real. I think it's a Basic bag?

I've seen fake mini skinnys (skinnies?) on rare occasions and have wondered why someone would waste their time but there's a market I guess.

Tell me what you think of this. I believe it's fake. (I've seen some slightly off-centered patterns but never one like this.)

item: 321667814740

I also don't see the Coach lozenge imprint stamp on the bottom trim.

Compare to my pictures of style 40670:

It looks fake to me too. I wish we could see the lining.
Another difference I noticed is that the trim stitching on the mini skinny in question goes all the way to the top and over the trim. On my known authentic one, it stops short of the top.

I'm not sure whether the pictures show the difference. I'm further convinced that the mini skinny on ebay is fake.

Yes, it's authentic and it is a basic bag. That seems like a good price for Buffalo Exchange. Once I was tempted by a Tiffany coin purse but they wanted $35 for it.

Phew. Glad ONE of them was real. Bonus - she doesn't really like it so I think I will work a trade.
A basic bag would make a good tablet case if your tablet is small enough. I never use mine for a purse. There are other styles I like better.
Yeah, I remember being surprised it wasn't behind the counter, either. Just hanging in with the other purses.
I still wish I could have gotten that Tiffany coin purse; I love Tiffany blue.

I like that you can take the strap off - it'd be a good going out bag. What time frame do you think it was made? I can't remember how the numbers go.

And I STILL kick myself for not getting that $%! Large Flap Bleecker bag a couple weeks ago. Grr.

The basic bag has the glued-in creed so it was made in the late 70s or early 80s. You can't tell anything from the numbers. We don't even think they used them sequentially.
authentic and rare. This is a tiny bag. I think the seller's width measurement is off.

Well, i just bought it, so I will measure and check when it gets here. :D

Thanks!

Ha! I just googled Chauncey bag and found your post from November linking to this exact bag! It was listed for $69 then.

It's a nice style and has a lot of interesting design details. The style name was Soho Stitched Flap and the color was Bordeaux. I have the Duffle version from that line.

So nice to know the style name. I tried to research on the bag and think this bag was made in 2007 but not really sure. Thank you the style name description on this bag. It has a western look to me and I love western style bags. :smile1:

It seems to be genuine but a picture of the entire bag would help.

Thanks for your opinion. Here are more pictures of the bag after I received it. Hope this will help give a definite answer as to weather it is authentic or not. Also, could you tell me roughly what year it is If you're able to?
