This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.

Thank you and be safe!

Since straps are removable and can be lost or replaced with a different one, we never use a removable prop to determine authenticity of the item it's one. (Fake straps are often seen on genuine bags and genuine straps have been on fakes.)

The creed with an invalid prefix is the most important detail that proves that the Poshmark bag is fake.
The P as the month code (first P in prefix) is never on an authentic Coach item.
The P as the plant code (second P in prefix) would never be on a US-made back. P one of the codes used for a Costa Rican plant.

if Poshmark "authentication team" doesn't recognize something as basic as translating the serial number, they need to get a new team of experts.
I've explained the invalid serial prefix in every email yet they are not happy with just that alone. I give up. I'm tired of fighting already. I understand the straps are removable but that's what they wanted to see so what else can I do? I don't see these as valid supporting evidence for the same reason that anyone can put a real strap on a counterfeit item. I have already given them photo showing the zipper and the clasp. I have nothing else to go on. I don't understand why TPF authentication is not proof enough for their "authenticators". But I gave them the link to the fake creeds eBay guide that @Hyacinth posted few days ago and hopefully they read it and educate themselves. Sigh.

How did you pay for the bag? if you used a credit card, file a dispute.

Another option is a professional authentication. If you choose a company with brand specialists (i.e, different experts for different brands), you can get documentation stating that the bag is fake. I know that Authenticate4U does documents that are accepted by ebay, paypal and credit card companies so I'd think that PM would accept it too.

There are short forms (about $7-ish-$7.50) for which you get a letterhead PDF stating authenticity. When submitted to the website, it should be acceptable to them.

I'll say that if PM is giving you this hard a time on such an obvious fake, it's a company that I strongly recommend buyers use extreme caution if doing business.

ETA: You might consider posting your horrible Poshmark experience on this thread:
Does anyone use Poshmark?

I don't know where else to put this but just wanted to update you all on my Posh Mark refund issue. I filed my case explaining the bag had invalid serial number and attached photos of the stamp and hardware. So after I filed my case it went under case in review. I kept checking PM but there were no updates or notification on there. My case was in review but on the 6th it suddenly went to "delivered" status. I clicked on it and found they closed my case saying it didn't qualify for return with no further expansion. I finally emailed support at poshmark with the link to the authentication post and demanded an explanation why. I got a reply today saying they requested additional information and photos. I never saw that request on poshmark. Long story short I had old email set up on Posh and never saw the request. So today's email said because they didn't hear back from me they closed the case. After reading my email they decided to help me as a one time courtesy and requested additional photos of all the stamp and all hardware logo AND a "made in" tag from inside the bag.
I'm not going to vent here about how this makes me feel that TPF authentication isn't enough for them. Instead I decided I should share the photos I submitted to them as additional proofs. So hopefully these photos help people recognize the counterfeit items and not buy them even if the items are declared "Authentic" by the sellers.

Similar thing happened with me recently! Purchased a vintage bag off Poshmark and had it authenticated here immediately after arrival - and it was deemed fake. So I contacted Poshmark ASAP and it took them well over a day to respond asking for more info/pics - which I then sent in immediately. Then I heard nothing and my order status showed "delivered", which means the funds had been released to the seller. Took over a week and a couple more emails from me for them to finally reimburse me. It left a really sour taste in my mouth, but now I know not to purchase without authentication FIRST, even if I miss out in a good deal. Lesson learned!

@rkiz I think the problem is they don't notify the customer that they sent an email. I filed case on Posh Mark site so I was expecting the response on Posh Mark. Why would anyone check the email or how would they know to check email without a notification?
ETA: I also think they shouldn't over ride the status to delivered and accept on the customers behalf. They should notify the customer of the resolution and the customer should be the one completing the final step.

You're right, now that I think about it I get notifications for EVERYTHING in that darn app except for when Posh contacted me. Definitely needs improvement! I sell on the app and do ok with that, but I'm laying off on my purchases after that debacle. eBay seems much safer for buyers.

If it is any consolation, I, as a consumer, will never do business with PM. What a terrible, crooked run around you've been given.
