Out of curiosity may I ask what is it? An hybrid early version of a Taft spawned by a Large Courier Pouch sometime after the late 1970s (I can't really read the creed or decipher the ident number below it)?

I'll provide that the underside of the "tongue" looks a bit odd to me. All the "tongues" I have,, the upper edge of the smooth leather backing doubler on the inside surface is cut square and terminates at the top of the parallel portion of the "tongue" (not contoured like what's shown in the photo). And what's with the corroded looking buckle? I've plenty of pre-creed bags with buckle attached adjustable straps, all of which have the lighter gauge buckles (and straps with ungrommeted holes). My 1970s bags have the more significant "solid brass" buckles. Patina and tarnish, yes. Scratches yes. But none of the buckles I've seen have looked like the one shown in this listings photos

The buckle bothered me too, but I thought it was possible it had been replaced. The slotted piece that the tongue goes through doesn't look right to me. The ones I've seen aren't stitched around the openings like that. I can't decipher the serial number so I asked the seller for a clearer photo. I'll post it if I get it.

And here are a couple of photos of other "tongue bag" styles for comparison (an early mocha #8920 Large Courier Pouch (identified by a COACH metal tag) and a putty Double-sided Small Courier Pouch (also identified by a COACH metal tag))...

Sorry about the poor picture quality.

ETA: Note that the #8920 shown has the larger "solid brass" buckles that were typical for 1970s and up bags with adjustable straps with grommet reinforced holes

Comment: Another enlighten me.. I have seen several bags with E plant code that were made in Italy. This is United States. Found that unusual. Is it good?
In my experience, E was used solely for COACH's Italian supplier and never used for a US plant (later on the Italian supplier code was 12 instead of E and I believe that facility was used only for very high end and exotic items that represented some of COACH's costliest offerings, like the alligator and ostrich bags shown below:

It's fake. You're correct; E is only an Italian plant.

I can't recommend lsvintage15. She has other fakes:

Could the seller have read the creed on this one?!?!?

I am quite sure it's authentic but my question is what the heck is that FS stamp under the flap?

Please identify also. Thank you! Sorry for inquiring about so many. Just trying to be careful.

Genuine Metropolis Zip #9087.

Sorry, that's not a Metropolis Zip. The Met Zip was introduced in Fall 1997 and would always have had a serial number that included the style number, and also would have had a snap-in key fob to the left of the creed.

Give me a few minutes to ID this one.

ETA - OK, Lewiston Bag, style 9931 from around 1993

Be careful of pontsteve. She sold this fake.
