My friend asked me to condition this bag for her. I'm questioning its authenticity. The serial number says it should be a Stewardess bag but it doesn't have a slip pocket or metal feet.

Item: Brown Turnlock Shoulder Bag
Serial Number: A7T 9525
Measurements: 10" wide x 8" tall x 3" deep with 20" strap drop (adjustable)

Any info is would be helpful. ImageUploadedByPurseForum1463848488.334091.jpgImageUploadedByPurseForum1463848503.535374.jpgImageUploadedByPurseForum1463848530.183440.jpgImageUploadedByPurseForum1463848555.003263.jpg

VERY fake, sorry.

The serial number font is too thick, and the only bags we've ever been able to find with apparently genuine T plant codes are from 1999, not 1997, and were made in Costa Rica, not the US.

There are several indentations or phantom margins around the entire serial number rather than just the "No" or the individual number, and we never see that in genuine Coach serial numbers, only in fakes. And I've NEVER seen a serial number with TWO stamping indents around the entire number.

The word "states" in the creed is all smashed together, another problem seen in fakes. The inside pocket zipper construction is really messy, Coach usually can install zippers with a minimum of waves, it's only the fakes makers that do it so badly. I'd also like to see the rest of that part of the pocket all the way out to the pocket edges, there may be a problem there too. The photo needs to show the full zipper and pocket end to end.

And as you mentioned if it's a # 9525 Stewardess bag, where's the small pocket underneath the flap, and where are the feet ???

If your friend bought that bag recently she needs to demand a full refund.

Luckily it can be returned to the second had store where she bought it. I'm happy my first instinct was correct. Thank you for the information.
