Found a lovely one on Portero but as I am so unfamiliar with Chanel I'm wondering if I need to get it authenticated as a safety precaution? Or will I be wasting time and post space but asking for authentication from Portero? Thank you all so much

Pretty sure your question don't belong here. But if you want to have a peace of mind u can post the pictures here for the authenticating experts to help you. But if I am not wrong Portero is pretty reliable. You can do a search for their reviews.

So my cousin recently bought a preowned CF from 2009 I think? It is in caviar skin but I find it a little odd or surprising that the bag doesn't have the infamous "love letter pocket", which is usually a Common thing for CF bags? I mean even the vintage bags have one. So is this normal? As in authentic?
