Hi all!
I would greatly appreciate feedback on this Cabas that I purchased recently on TRR. I think it would have been classified as grained or tumbled calf Phantom Cabas? I have no idea of the official color name would have been. I've been out of the loop for a loooong time LOL. Also, I the only other Celine I have is Luggage (mini tricolor) and Twisted Cabas (small) in the smooth leather so I'm struggling a little to compare the details that are unique to this style. Originally I wasn't too worried but them I noticed some inconsistencies with the edge paint on the interior pocket flap. Made me nervous eeeek...
TIA, Fingers crossed!

Hi - does anyone have thoughts as to whether this bag is authentic? I bought it from a Japanese seller with very good reviews on eBay, but the price was fairly low.

Thanks so much!

almost certainly real. the celine bags, while beautiful, don’t hold retail value so I’m not shocked it was cheap. as for japanese resellers, they have huge fines for selling counterfeit goods so you can almost always trust them. if they have good reviews, its def real.

I can’t speak to the authenticity of the bag itself but that dust bag is a clear fake. New Celine dust bags are black with a distinct fabric that gives off a sheen that makes it easy to identify authentic ones. The price is also a red flag as new Celine bags are not typically sold for that low.

ETA - I looked at the pictures in the listing again after I posted. There are pictures of two different bags. The bag pictured in the close up of the triomphe closure has different stitching than in the other pictures. The close up looks like an authentic bag and the other pictures look fake compared to that one, going by the difference in the stitching quality and the color of the triomphe. Sorry to say it looks fake.

That's absolutely not true - lots of fakes coming from Japan, have been for quite a few years now. I'm not an authenticator for Celine, but the poster above me, abacuo, is correct on the bags shown in pictures being different. The stitching is white on the bag in the main picture, but in the closeups, it's brown.

We only have one authenticator for Celine here, Sophia, and she hasn't visisted for a few days now. Also, she generally only does Phoebe Philo era bags. So I suggest you get it authenticated professionally by Authenticate 4U or other reputable, knowledgeable in Celine third party service and take it from there if the bag is indeed fake.

I don’t want to open a seperate thread for my short question so I hope it is okay posting it here:

Lately I saw a lot of offers on reselling sites where an authenticity card is shown. I attached a photo for you.

To me this card is absolutely unknown and I have six or seven Celine pieces directly bought from the boutique. Though, all of these are fairly newer ones so maybe I missed a change with the paperwork the bags and accessories like belts or sunglasses come with.

Do you know if Celine has ever produced this kind of card?

Thanks a lot!

I’m not sure but I can see that is the brand logo from the pre-Phoebe Philo days (before around 2010) so maybe this was an old practice that they stopped?

@abacuo
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Interestingsly I saw this kind of card recently a lot on photos of Triomphe bags and belts on some pre-loved platforms.

It made me suspicious and I was wondering if these cards ever existet in the past. Maybe I am a bit paranoid but I began thinking about a super fake reseller who pushes items with this card into the pre-loved market. It looks a bit like a pattern to me.

I agree with you and would definitely stay away from recent collection products with an « authenticity » card. I think it’s a way for super fake resellers to market their product as authentic to the average buyer (just like fake invoices).

Yes I would be very suspicious if someone is selling a new Triomphe product (2019 or later) with this card. Not only does Celine not provide authenticity cards on new products but this has a logo that has not been in use for years.
