Howdy folks! I found this bag at a consignment shop, and I think I know the answer but I wanted to ask anyway.

Being from a consignment shop I don’t have much info on it. I’ve attached photos. Even if it is a fake it was enough to convince me so I’m not terribly upset.

Hello!

I recently bought a Burberry trench coat from Gilt. I was initially concerned when I received it because the label/tag on the coat looks nothing like the previous label/tag of my older Burberry coats (from early 2000s). If the coat can be authenticated, I would appreciate it very much!

Hi. I'm not an authenticator for Burberry. But I have serious doubts about the tags - some words that should be one word are split into two parts. It could be just poor workmanship. But also, Gilt was known to sell fakes a few years ago.

Oh no! What words are mixed up, IntheOcean - we love that you can read the other languages on the tags.

I was going to say the tags are just the newer style - actually been around for a few years and have changed AGAIN since then. And the newer tags are rather a fright for me.

I added the screenshot, this is Bulgarian - these two words are wrong. It should say, нетекстилни, not нетекст илни, and the same thing with the second underscored word. Mind you, in all the older authentic tags I've seen, that never happened. They always spelled these words correctly. I know just what you mean about the newer tags - with the fakes getting "better" it becomes harder and harder to catch these things...

This is not me saying with absolute certainty that the item in question is fake. But when taking into account the trench is coming from Gilt - if it were me, I wouldn't buy that.

Everything else looks good - I don't know anything about Gilt. The other labels all looks good to me. I appreciate IntheOcean's keen eye for spelling mistakes in languages other than English.

Thank you @terite and @IntheOcean for your thorough checks and feedback; I appreciate it! I was so curious about the tag misprint that I went to the Burberry store today to check out the Chelsea coat tags there. It looks there is a typo issue
