Quite possibly. If you don't feel right about the purchase, don't make it. :flowers:

Thanks so much for your input. I made the purchase several days ago, on impulse, because the seller seemed legit. It was only when googling to learn more about the style that I began to have some doubts (after coming across that other version from 2004 and the discrepancies I mentioned).

Will see when it arrives and might get it authenticated again for peace of mind. I wonder if you can recommend any Authenticator who are particularly schooled in bottega from that era?

Or would you say putting pictures here is my best bet?

Thanks again for all your help, I truly appreciate it!

This thread in this forum has two of the most amazing Authenticators you’ll find, so you’re in the right place.

Item Name: BV Arco Tote Medium
Seller name or ID: sakura_sakura_1
Working Link: http://smg.photobucket.com/user/n32jya/library/bottegablack
Comments: Generally I trust sellers from Japan (with my own due diligence of course) because of their strict counterfeit regulations, but I don't remember Arco Totes having a logo on the outside and they have one piece of negative feedback in the past 12 months implying the item was counterfeit. I don't usually panic with ONE negative feedback, because a lot of people lie and use that as an excuse to return an item when they have buyers remorse.

Hi, I'm new to Bottega and thinking of getting the older model hobo since I don't find anything I like yet on the newer model. Found online in a quite stunning teal color, but I noticed the serial number doesn't look like the ones usually found in older models (I feel the serial code label looks like those in their newer bags). Do you think this bag is legit?

The link isn’t working…

Not sure what you mean by ‘older model’ but this an authentic (Tomas Maier-era) medium hobo in the newer iteration - i.e. fully woven handle and the stitched fettuce, which holds up better over time. I found the listing on the ‘bay and the seller is reputable.

Ah, thanks so much for checking it for me and sorry for the confusion! I haven't paid attn to Bottega so in my mind, I kind of compartmentalize their bags into the older hobo model (TM era) and the current hobo style/ Jodie (DL/MB era)

No problem - I’ve been living here in BVette Land for over a decade and still tend to think of the new guys as that ’other stuff’ - LOL

Hi, I would love to know if this preloved bag I bought is authentic, thank you in advance! Please let me know if there needs to be more pictures attached, I haven’t received it so I can’t provide pictures of the logo of the inside of the bag at the moment:

I always like to see all photos including the heatstamp, but I’m fairly confident the Medium Belly Veneta in Chene from 2011 is authentic, IMO :flowers:
