Hi PF! If you could please authenticate this Bottega medium hobo. Feels buttery soft. It’s vintage but wondered if the splitting showing fabric is normal?
The Ebano Medium Veneta is authentic, IMO. The splitting at the bottom is one of the reasons Bottega changed the design of the bag in 2015-ish.
The bag pictured above is probably about 15+ years old so it would be normal it would show some wear.

It had a fixed shoulder strap though, instead of it being a flip attachment. Hi @V0N1B2, thanks for sharing your expert opinion on my post. Honestly I love the look of the iron bag which is why I have been looking for one in the preloved market. Trying to source it where I am to avoid extra taxes even buying preloved outside the country. I keep wishing this iteration of this bag with extra strap is real. The detachable longer strap can be attach to the short strap so the bag can be worn 3 ways(short shoulder bag, long shoulder bag, crossbody).Yes, a similar style was made by BV. There seem to be a lot of older Ebano Venetas on the resale sites lately.
I don’t usually comment on price, but that bag (if authentic) is about he same price as it was brand new 15 years ago. Who said BV doesn’t hold their value
