Hi there, can you ladies look at this for me please? Is the BIN a bit high? TIA

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....m=170224226545&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=007

I am not familiar with this style, and though the receipt is nice, but it could be for any BV item... request pictures of the name imprint (in the leather) inside the bag, and clear close-ups of the front and back of the authenticity tag, usually found inside the zipper pocket or sewn into the seam of the interior lining. And while you are at it, a good clear pic of the interior. Nice bag, but do not know if BIN is too high - depends upon condition, etc.

Thanks I will ask. The seller tells me it is in perfect condition but I am careful as I am in UK and she is US and uts real hassle when it goes wrong and postage etc...Thanks I will try for more pics.

I wanted to comment about the BIN. Seller says it was used for travel. That usually means a lot of wear. Admittedly it looks very nice, but it's still a used bag and it's not woven BV. I'd want to know exactly what the interior and edges/corners of the exterior are like. In my own opinion, she's expecting a lot even with price increases. But some sellers want to get nearly all their money back when they sell a bag, even if it's unreasonable.

Looks ok... tag is right, and name imprint looks right, but I do not know the color. I would request a picture of the zipper pull.

Baggiana, as I said in a recent post, I rarely disagree with you. In fact, it's so rarely that I want you to help me out here--regarding the font of the heat stamp on the pink bag: my eyesight isn't the best, but it looks like block letters, not letters with serifs. Am I missing something?

boxermom, on second thought maybe not... I went with the authenticity tag, because I was having trouble viewing the font clearly on my computer... it does not look like a serif, once I downloaded it and enlarged it in photoshop, so, in this case, I believe that I am wrong. In addition, I should have checked the seller's feedback... mostly private, and this listing does not show up in her store. I would avoid this one just based on the fb. I will PM yamano.

I keep a listing of color codes, and but I do not have them all - and I do not have this one. In fact, the more that I look at the bag, itself, the more plastic it appears. So I think that your assessment is correct...

Seller needs to provide a clear pic of the white interior authenticity tag and the back side (with the name on it)of the zipper. The font looks ok on the name plate, but the fabric lining doesn't seem right. Except for the small cosmetic bags/clutches, BV's newer bag linings are genuine suede. I'm wondering if this is really snakeskin. I'm not an expert on exotics but this bag just looks off.

Please--other comments on this bag!!!:confused1:

OK, snakeskin is something I do know, as I am a long time collector of vintage Falchi and now, Nancy Gonzalez. Snakeskin has scales, not a waffle type weave. Lizard, on the other hand, has more of an impressed look, but these impressions are irregular - not regular, like these are in the body of the purse. In my opinion, the body of the bag is not snakeskin, but, I believe the impressed leather that was so popular with BV in earlier times (see the texture of the leather in this listing:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Auth-Vntg-Botte...ryZ63852QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem).

The snakeskin is on the handles, and the pieces wrapping the loop of the body of the bag that attaches to the handle hardware, and it looks like the piping. All of these areas are "hard wear" areas, and need to be babied, or otherwise carefully cared for. On the other hand, I have unstructured python bags over 40 years in age, whose snakeskin has fared better than the leather.

As for the interior lining, I am not certain, but I asked this question months ago, and it appears that some of the outlet bags are indeed lined in fabric rather than suede. This time, the heat stamp (impressed name/logo looks right, with the right font and means of attachment (I have seen many like this), but I agree with boxermom that you should request clear close-ups of the front and back of the authenticity tags.

Does the campana come with a cell phone pocket, normally? Can someone with a campana look at this and tell us? This one does not appear to have a cell phone pocket, but you may want to ask.

If this bag was entirely made of snakeskin, I would expect the retail price to be much higher than the seller's quote, factoring in the BV premium. With regard to the seller's price, I feel it is a little high for a bag that is not entirely snakeskin, especially one not lined in suede or leather. JMO The seller claims to be a member of tPF, and she has great feedback, and she does sell high ticket items.
