Thanks Purse Forum (once again). I did not bid on this based on PF feedback. Also, the answer I got from the seller about the origins of the bag, etc. - which just did not sound real. In the middle of the first auction, the seller ended it with no explanation and then almost immediately re-listed with a slightly different story. Hmmm... I think people got wise (or checked it out here) because the second time around, no one bid on it.

You're being a smart buyer by noticing the little details. When I first joined eBay, I bought what I thought was a lovely BV Veneta. I carried it for a few months before I learned what an authentic one should look like. It was embarrassing and I was angry. I've tried to learn as much as I could about BV or ask others. The members here are amazing with all the knowledge they have. BTW, that same seller went on to selling fake Pradas. I should check and see if she's been selling lately.

^There`s no way that the first one is brand new! I`d stay away.

And the second looks okay, I would ask for inside and tag pics though! (BTW, does the Catalano Campana come with silver hardware?)

Hey, can you please help me with this wallet.
I don`t have a good feeling.
Can you please have a look. Thank you so much in advance.:flowers:

The font of the stamp, the hardware (silver??) and the box it comes with does not look like it came from BV. In addition, the leather seems a little loose in the weaves. My call - stay away.

^The stamp and the box are vintage- if they are authentic. Probably the leather has loosened up a bit because of heavy use for a couple of years, because it`s at least ten years old.

Can`t tell by the pics if it`s authentic or not. Could you ask for any more?

What kind of pictures do you need?

I allready own the wallet, but have the bad feeling that it is not authentic.:s The leather doesn´t feel as soft as the real Bottega leather.
The wallet seems to be new and not used.:confused1:

Thank you so much for your help!

guccisima, sorry to take so long in replying (ever have a doctor appointment and you wait hours for the doc to come? re-scheduling wasn't an option). From what I know about the period of time that BV used a font with letters that had no "serifs", it looked much different from this font. Also, I can't explain it, but the wallet and weave just look "off" and not BV quality.

Based on those things plus what you yourself observed in person, I believe it's probably a fake.

Thank you so much for your help, boxermom.:flowers:
It´s very kind that you chime in here after a hard day (i hate waiting for the doc).
I knew that the wallet is a fake when i was holding it in my hands. The leather just doesn´t feel right.
I will contact the seller.

Thanks again for all the help.

I just noticed your signature where it says "sorry for my English". I see Hamburg in your location but your English is so good I thought maybe you are British or American and living there. No apologies needed! the US educational system basically ignores foreign language instruction, so we struggle (I'll speak for myself--I struggle) when we travel. I always try to learn some useful phrases, but I'm sure I don't do well. This is a huge complaint of mine with most of our schools--foreign language instruction isn't required and it starts so late, it's hard to learn the correct accent.

Didn't mean to go on about that topic. Your English is excellent!
