hello. can anyone help authenticate the bag below for me please? i purchased this bag but when i received it, i immediately noticed that something was off -- the material of the dustbag was lighter and coarser, the string was too thin and the printed logo and text were too big. moreover, the fabric edges inside the dustbag were not rolled in -- but were exposed, frayed and sewn haphazardly. it doesn't help that the bag doesn't have have an authenticity tag. i checked the inside pocket and there were no signs that the tag could've just been ripped off. i have 2 other vintage bottega cross body bags that i tried to compare it with, and i really think that something was off with this one. please help!

This is vintage BV , probably from the 70's or 80's.that is the way the dustbags looked then. The fact that the dustbag is tattered or worn or was hand sewn, possibly in a repair, has no bearing on the authenticity of the handbag. This handbag was manufactured prior to the time they put authenticity tags inside. Looks like a great little bag for the money.

the duster looks like an older bag
I am not familar with vintage
but I am pretty sure that vintage bags had authencity tags besides the metal plate
wait for boxermom or miss_fancy_bags
dusters have nothing to do with real or not real

Prestwick is right about the dust bags from this era--early vintage. The bags (I have had a few of these) are thin,, the string tie isn't at all like the ones today. This is consistent with the time of the bag. Almost all of the vintage bags had no authenticity tags. The mirror is also consistent with the age of the bag and frankly, most mirrors have been separated from the bag, so this is a nice bonus.

Bag is authentic vintage and everything else fits with the age of the bag.
