Knot bags are the easiest to fake
they have no authenticity tags
they only have heat stamps
you take your chances when you buy anything off ebay
if you want to know that it is really real you must buy it from a BV boutique

^^ You are right... it's better to save up and buy from the boutique!

Thank you all so much for your help, I really appreciate what you do. You guys save clueless people like me from a lot of costly mistakes!

Ps: Boxermom, isn't Southport where reality "star" and general credit to humanity Jenelle Evans is from? :p

she's from Oak Island, which is across the bridge from Southport.

Maybe I should withdraw from authenticating Knots, because I thought it looked good.

You definitely should NOT withdraw! It's not like you give any official guarantees or anything -- you are an experienced BV aficionado who, out of the kindness of her heart, gives her opinion. If something doesn't ring any alarm bells to you, it's because the forgers are getting awfully good. Please don't doubt yourself; when we ask you about an item, we are asking for your opinion. Thank you so much for sharing it!

don't withdraw Boxermom
knots are very hard to authenticate
maybe TPF should not authenticate knot bags period
there is no sure way to know if they are real or not from a picture
fakers are good
so are you Boxermom
hate to lose so much knowledge for one snafu :hugs:

Look at the heat stamp... and crooked stitching, lower right ...

PLEASE don't withdraw from authenticating Knots. We need you. This one was harder - which means we need ALL EYES AVAILABLE!!!

Now that I am looking at it more closely... isn't the heat stamp kind of crooked, too? It seems higher on the right.

I think one of the things that is making authenticating high-end bags really hard is that lately, the quality of a lot of them has gone down a lot. I've owned both Chanels and Lanvins that have included obvious flaws like crooked stitching, yet were authentic. So some sloppiness doesn't necessarily indicate a fake anymore -- I hope this isn't true for BV but I just don't know.

Stupid me on the Knot^--the seller had an explanation for the bad heatstamp and I believed it. I didn't notice the crooked stitching and am embarrassed about that. Need to be more cynical as well as observant. I wish Knots had a tag!
