I think its because your nickname ''iconlady'' is the same name as the website of the link you posted. It is natural for boxermom or anyone to assume that you own the online shopping website www.ironlady.com ! :D

Now since you are thinking of buying this bag, and this is your second post, I would now assume that you have just joined tPf and called yourself iconlady after that website you are eyeing?

Perhaps you may want to refer to the beginning of this thread for instructions on ''how to post'' for authentification. The ladies here have toiled thanklessly and faithfully for years here. I am one beneficiary and the least we could do is comply to simple request on format, clarify, relevant comments and information to avoid misunderstandings !

Hi ppd2, I totally understand the misunderstanding here. And no, I do not own this website, and can't possibly ask someone else to authenticate my business right. Laugh...
But you are absolutely correct that I just joined and after many attempt of selecting the username, (all had been taken) I had no choice but to go with this nickname since that's all I had at the time of registering.
So am I qualified as a buyer of bv? And may anyone help to authenticate this bag whether it is original before I visit the shop tomorrow...?

iconlady, I apologize for the misunderstanding. We do need more photos, however, to give you an opinion on this bag. It can be confusing here when you first join. Post #1 of this thread includes the information we request.

For this bag we would want to see the heat stamp/font, both sides of the white authenticity tag and the zipper pull (the back side where the metal is stamped with the zipper brand name.

I hope this helps you and then we'll be glad to authenticate the bag.

Hi, I don't see any warning signs, but we need more pictures to give an opinion. Please see post 1 of this thread for what we need. Most importantly, pics of the other side of the auth. tag and where Bottega Veneta is embossed into the leather. :smile1:

You may also want a closeup of pic 3 to see what the seller means by "standard wear", FYI...

Hi, My friend was cleaning out her closet and found this bag that she got from her mother in law. She wasn't sure if it is authentic or not, and she wasn't going to embarrass her and ask. So I thought I would post it and see if anyone can tell. I tried looking on- line but couldn't find one like this. I think it was purchased in the 80's. If it is authentic would you be able to tell me the style name as well. Sorry about the sideways pictures, don't know how to get them straight.

Hi, is this for resale? If so, please contact one of the paid authentication sites.

If it's not going to show up on ebay, bonanzle, etc., then please read post 1 of this thread for all of the pictures needed to give an opinion. :smile1:

No this handbag is not going to show up for resale anywhere, just wanted an opinion. My friend wanted to know what it was worth, just for herself. There were no other labels or markings on this bag to show. As well, it only allowed me to upload 5 pictures so I thought these were the most important. I am going to show you some more pics. Thank you for your help

Miss_FancyBags is our resident vintage expert (and I do mean expert) but in my humble opinion this looks to be authentic vintage and even still has the tortoise shell mirror! Terrific find!
