I would be grateful for some assistance authenticating this piece (or some guidance or what additional photographs I should be requesting). I've been eyeing a stretch knot in leather as my first BV piece and this is the first I've seen in a long while! Thank you in advance.

I have a similar stretch Knot (also in Karung/Ayers snake) but not this exact one, and I've never actually seen this particular style in person. I believe that TDL does own this one (I believe it's Karung snakeskin with the papier detailing). For what it's worth, it seems okay so far to me. I would request photos of the imprint on the sides of the closure, as well as the imprint on the interior. Also, one of the photos from the top view make it look like the frame is bent, but maybe it is just a bad photo.

In case this matters to you, this Stretch Knot was from the Fall/Winter 2010-11 collection (i.e. about a year ago), not the "current" collection as stated in the description. That detail might help you find more information about it in some of the older threads on the forum. It might be true that it is still available at the boutiques, because Knots remain at the boutiques until sold.

I know that fashionphile is reputable, just wanted a second opinion on this peltro cabat please. Thanks in advance! :)

Comments: Do the handles look too worn to you? It's hard to tell because of the natural aged look of the leather

Hi, great find - but it's sold already - hopefully it was you!

Authentic in my opinion. Peltro's my favorite leather color - it's just stunning!!!!!! We'd need better pics of the handles to see how worn they are; however, peltro would probably not show wear as quickly as other leather colors/treatments.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!! :smile1:

Thanks!!!! It was me - I figured that I should move on it quickly and fashionphile has a great returns policy anyway. I'm so excited - peltro has always been a HG for me even though I'm not a big BV fan.

I've been doing some research on the metal tags and although the metal tag/plaque on the peltro says 'Limited Edition', it doesn't have the numbering on it (e.g. 230/500). Does that mean that this was a special order?

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! :woohoo:

The only way I know to tell if it's a special order is to see the next line of numbers/letters on the back of the authenticity tag. Unfortunately, it seems to be sewn into the seam and not visible.

Let's see what others say! If you don't get a quick response, start a new thread about how to tell if a bag is a special order.

A couple other notes: the suede lining is NOT easily cleaned and they don't soil immediately as claimed by the seller. I have some older bags with pristine linings. This may have been used a bit more than she claims.

However it is a classic large Veneta and appears authentic.

I agree with Boxermom that it appears authentic. I don't use the back of a zipper as a point of authenticity, so we'll see what other authenticators say! :smile1:
Sorry to bother you all... I'm a bit paranoid from previous experiences. The tag doesn't show EPEV year/lot# info, it has something else instead. Is it normal?

Hi, f1champ, your tag is fine. BV has changed the look and content of the authenticity tags many times over the years. :smile1:

It's fine to double check! No worries about being a bother. Since there are an increasing number of fakes being listed on e@ay, it's good to feel comfortable with your purchase.

If you like, let's get some more opinions on your tag...http://forum.purseblog.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1567930&stc=1&d=1326745474
