Hi Boxermom, Blueiris. I just received this bag, and is super nervous. This bag has NO tag (anywhere) or pouch with the plate. Nothing says it's a Bottega Veneta. I can only rely on seller's words about its history. I know it is very difficult to authenticate this bag w/o all the important info. I really really appreciate your great help and your feedback. Thank you !:flowers::flowers:

P.S Color is metallic, something between gold & bronze. Bag is very slouchy so is stuffed when photographed. Some leather has wear and rub-off of the metallic color.

I looked through your photos several times, and I have my Cabat out to compare it. Without seeing it in person, it's hard to say for sure. I don't have as much experience as the regular authenticators here. But I have some serious doubts--I wouldn't have bid on it to begin with because of those doubts, and your photos haven't convinced me otherwise. The lack of tag certainly doesn't help, either. I'm sorry--this is just my opinion.

Hi Boxermom!

I can no longer show you the site since I already rec'd the bag, but the white certificate of authenticity reads: 11563 V0013 1000
EPEV 2009 3718A

To refresh your memory I had purchased a nappa nero medium veneta from HG Bags. I swear it feels like goatskin and not lambskin! I am so disappointed! If you need photos I will have my daughter take some tomorrow. Thanks for all your help!!!

That is the correct code for a medium Nappa Veneta in Nero. Erica deals in authentic merchandise and gets them through legitimate channels. Her reputation means a lot to her.

If it doesn't have the feel that you expected from lambskin and she's willing to refund your money, then do that. She doesn't want a dissatisfied customer. Can you post your own photos of the bag? Nappa has a special sheen that we can usually see in the photos. Of course we can't feel how soft it is. Nappa gets softer and more pliable with use. Maybe that's what you were expecting right out of the box. My softest BV's are the oldest ones--the old vintage bags.

I'm sure it's genuine, it just may not be what you expected.

Here are the close up pictures. I'm not sure which year and official colour name for the colour code 6200?

Just thinking it's pretty much a red tone bag as well. Will it be too close to my Carmino New Ball?

I don't see any warning signs for this bag, but we do need to see actual photos of both sides of the white authenticity tag. Ask the seller if she can take photos of the tag with the close-up setting (usually it's a button with a flower on it). It should work so we can see how the tag looks.

Code = Pompei from F/W 2006 . Think orange from flowing lava coming from the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in Pompei. That was the inspiration. It does not look at all like Carmino. It is a muted orange toned red.

Boxermom, blueiris I too have too many questions on this bag, I don't think I can sleep on it. So I'm sending back the bag, the seller is responding well and is taking the bag back. Thanks again for your help and input ^^^^!!

It's what I would do. For this level bag, you want to feel good about every detail. I think you're smart to return it.

You're welcome. I think you're doing the right thing. Like boxermom wrote, you should feel good about this type of purchase.

Hi, Is this an AUTH bag? Please help me, Thanks

Item Name:100% Authentic Bottega Veneta Pre-Owned Large Satchel!
Item Number: 320481971891
Seller ID: roseclosetstyle

I'd like to see a photo of the other side of the white authenticity tag and also a photo of the outside or inside zipper pull, showing the metal pull. There have been several of this style lately and that always makes me wonder where they all are coming from.

This may sound small and nit-picky, but we try to give informed opinions.
