Item: Bottega Veneta Gladiole Sloane

Hi I just bought this Gladiole Sloane from a reputable seller. I'm a bit worried as the authenticity tag "Originality Certificate" is in English and most of the others I have seen are in Italian "Certificato di Originalita. Please help me verify. Please pardon my ignorance as I have just got sucked into the BV craze!

Hi,
My BV that I purchased from Bottega Galleries Lafayette in Paris looks like this in English too. :okay:

But I too would like to know why some are in Italian ...:shrugs:

I came across this on Ebay and it worried me because they are selling BV wallets for BIN $309 in 9 different colors. Are these authentic?

Authentic zip wallet. I love this style. It's not Noce. The tag's last 3 letters are TER, for Terra, I believe. It's a bit darker medium brown than Noce. I think the photos are pretty true to color.

That's a great piece of information! Incredibly useful. Although a bit of bad news in this case, since I was looking for a matching wallet for a Noce bag. There are a couple of similar ones around (see e.g. http://cgi.ebay.com/SALE-BOTTEGA-VE...emQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item58858b2f00 ) where colour code 2615 is assumed to be Noce, does that seem correct? Noce is usually 2510 for bags, but I know that the codes sometimes vary between styles/item types.

Thanks!

PS. Due to the price/location, I am not interested in the above wallet at the moment anyway, so it doesn't need authenticating (although there is something that puzzles me). I just want to know if 2615 is the correct code to keep looking for and haven't found the information in any of the other threads. If I am too far off topic here, I'll post a separate question, no problem.

PPS. Just realized that ssc0619's post above relates to the same kind of wallet (and showing a 2510). It will be interesting to see what you make of those wallets, perhaps there is cause for extra caution with this particular style?

Hi there, elainewu and ppd, I am no expert, but remember the same question came up a little while ago. I think we concluded that there are some bags with "Originality Certificate" (in English) on the tag out there that are genuine. If you do a search on "certificato", you will see some discussions.

HTH.:flowers:

It's a good question and I'm glad you are examining your bag. It's the best way to become familiar with the genuine details.

No worries! We noticed this last year for the first time--some had the English version. Your bag is ok......my last purchase was a Veneta off the BV store shelf (December) in Virginia and has the same style tag as yours.

How gorgeous! A Sloane in Gladioli:yahoo:.

Hi ladies! Wondering about your thoughts on this? I know these are about 5 years old, so it seems a bit odd to me that it would not have been used yet. Thanks!

I see no warning signs and the dustbag is the right color for the age of the bag. If you're seriously interested, you can ask the seller about the history of the bag. I'd say it's authentic, no later than summer 2005, maybe earlier.

I have my doubts about these, but since I don't know all the wallet codes for outlet stores, I can't state they are fakes. Just looking at the details, I'd avoid them.

I think it's widely known that Noce's code is 2510 and the color is discontinued, so we're not revealing any state secrets here. I don't know what 2615 is. It's too light for Noce but Maple is a different code, and I'd have thought it would be Maple.

Anyway, 2510 is the color you're looking for to match Noce.

Hi - could you please authentice. seller says it's from late 70's, early 8o's and when asked says there is no authenticity tags or zipper pull markings. thanks

She's right--this vintage had no authenticity tags and the zippers aren't marked. Looks like authentic vintage BV to me.
