Authenticate This Botkier

Hi there! There is an ebay guide to triggers, using that as a reference it looks like a smooth nude trigger from 05. It looks good to me, and it looks like a well established seller. There was a period of time that they were not doing signature logo lining. The triggers are difficult, tabs vs. tassels, logo vs. no logo. It gets complicated. It is newer than mine, because this is after they moved the outside nameplate to the side under the zipper, it also has organization/multi function pockets in it. I hope that this helps, and hopefully an expert will chime in here too!

Well, I know I shouldn't be double posting, but I was really hoping someone would have jumped in on this by now. I really like the bag, but I'm reluctant to pay over $200 for a *used* one if it's not genuine. Anyone? Pretty please?

Hi dede629, this is the Trigger Turbo, probably from 05 or 06 - these are always hard to authenticate because for this particular style, Botkier deviated from many of their usual Trigger detailing. For example, the flat studs on the handles became little raised balls, the zipper on the inside became leather instead of plastic, etc. Then, the years after that, Botkier returned to its usual Trigger styling, very odd! Anyway, I think this one looks OK. The linen lining without the logo is typical of the older Triggers and nothing to be concerned about. Good luck!

Thank you both lucybelle and annaes. I had read that guide on eBay lucybelle, a couple times, but had managed to miss the comment about the nameplate, and the picture of it shown exactly where it is on this bag!! Once I saw that, my only concern now would be the lining, and since you're both saying there were periods when it was plain linen, I'm going to seriously consider bidding. Thanks again! Pays to double post :D.

ETA: I do also pay attention to sellers on the 'bay, and I agree lucybelle, they do seem to have a very good and well established rating (100% & over 5,000!!), but since it's a resell of a pre-owned bag, I was wondering if it might have been possible that the sellers themselves could have been burned. Anyway, you've both helped me feel more confident and I appreciate your responses.

Hello, I am really hoping that this works, this is my first image upload! I am looking for any early trigger experts to authenticate. I have lots more pics if necessary, just looking for thoughts, thanks in advance!:smile1:

This looks good to me! The main determining factor for the early Triggers is the quality of the leather since Botkier changed so many details from season to season. :D
Maybe someone else will chime in too...

ALso, what do you think about authenticity, when there is the old style pull tabs on the outside, but there is also the name plate right next to the main zipper, kinda a mix of the old and new styles, do you think this seems authentic?

Hi! I just joined the forum today.

Does anyone know if the make fake Taylor crossbody bags? I just bid on one and won it. The pics look good to me, and the seller's ratings are great, with no negative feedbacks. I realize that the auction I won doesn't include a dustbag and authenticity card, but I won it for only $61 so it sounds like a good deal. Can anyone put in their 2 cents? Thank you!
