Hi, did you end up returning your city? I've just received mine from Net-A-Porter as well, and it's exactly the same as yours in terms of 'mixed' hardware, mine has specks on the hardware...

I believe your bag is authentic
Stitching on the handles should be made of cotton- kind of shoe lace
