I'm pretty sure they're a fake. I purchased one from the same seller and got it authenticated through an eBayer who specializes in selling Alexander McQueen items (unfortunately, it was AFTER I bought it). I'm also going to be taking mine into the Alexander McQueen boutique but I'm pretty sure they'll tell me the same thing.

did you use theskullery ebay seller to authenticate?

its pretty obvious those are fake.

take a look at this photo:http://phoenixtrade.webs.com/photos/Alexander-mcqueen/DSC03623.JPG

just look at the mcqueen text imprinted on the scarf. the 'R' in alexander should line up exactly with the U in mcqueen underneath it.

it should look lined up like this

I agree. In addition the 'c' in the 'Q' is way off (too little spacing) and in general the text seems too thick.

This seller had around 10 of these scarves (same colorway) in stock. In general, that's something that should set your alarm bells off. Not even a McQueen flagship tends to stock that much of the same colorway, let alone an old season version.

I'd have to say it's a fake. A very good one, but what threw me off was the label. The labels on a real McQueen scarf are only stitched to the actual scarf at the top (i.e. there are only two stitches, one on the top left and top right with a lower left stitch for the care label which isn't attached to the actual scarf). The label is never stitched on all four ends because this would damage too much of the silk.

Hi! I received this today and I'm still skeptical. Could someome look at the ended auction and give an opinion? I have 2 days to return it. I can take other pics if necessary. The tag looks like those on my authentic one, but this one says 2008 and mine is 2009.

Thanks so much!!

Thank you Slky. My other concern was the hem. My real one has a hem that looks rolled and hand-stitched, like my Hermes scarves, but this one is def. a machine hem. Is that another give-away? Thank you for the tip on the stitched on the label, too!

OK, back it goes. I think I'll stick to retail. I can't auth these AMs like I can the H....Thanks for all the helpful info, everyone!
