Hi Everyone. I just found this AT thread. Won this scarf, after comparing against my known real ones (SAKS) and felt good about it until this AM, when looking at an "inspired" auction that had the same tags as the one I just won. The inspired auction even had the gall to warn bidders against the AM fakes on EB, when their own auction had the same tags....So, I'm spooked. Can someone take a look and let me know? Feel free to delete pics from response, they take up a lot of room:p. Thanks!

I'd say the second one was definitely fake, just because the label and tag look black instead of grey and the lettering seems off. I'm also wary because the seller has three of these and is setting the starting price relatively low. She also claims they won't sell in stores because of flaws, yet doesn't list these flaws?

I'm suspicious of the first auction as well, because again the tag looks black, but I'd need to see the actual label to confirm it's fake (though the bit peeking out looks black as well). On the other hand, the brand name stamped on the actual scarf looks very crooked, especially looking at the 'c' in the 'Q' and the uneven spacing between the letters.

I'd stay away from both of these. I think in general the starting price of authentic McQueen scarves is set at retail or even above, especially now that he's no longer alive, as people know they can make good money off these.

piaffe73 - thank you for your kind words :smile1: I agree this color combo is beautiful, but another thing that made me sceptical is the fact that I don't recall seeing this colorway before (or at least not in the last few years). If it is an older model, I'd wonder why suddenly so many sellers are getting their hands on them. I have however seen the black with purple skulls pop up a few times, which is beautiful as well, so you might want to keep your eye out for that one.

This looks good and I believe I've seen thread confirming the seller sells authentic scarfs..
However please do wait for 2nd opinion

I agree, this looks authentic and is from the current season. But it's way overpriced. Currently the official Alexander McQueen online store is selling the exact same scarf for 140 GBP/220 USD, so if you can, I'd get it there instead, otherwise you're paying double the retail price which is insane.

little bump, please...

I just received my AM scarf from Diabro.net and compared it against the one on this ebay site. It looks real to me. Has anyone bought any scarves from this seller? Is the seller using the authentic ones to put into pictures and selling the fakes?

I just ordered one from that seller. I'm waiting to get it in the mail and planning on going to the Alexander McQueen store to get it authenticated.
