No, I didn’t even look ant the small, even tho the regular was $199 ( why is that) as opposed to the mini $238. I am very happy with the mini. I didn’t have anything in this size and it’s perfect for everyday without the iPad. Like you said it’s not that mini. Perfect for date nite or an around town excursion or shopping. It doesn’t stick out too much when crossbody. I really don’t think the small works for me, and that’s ok. It’s crazy during the Labor Day sale my large navy was only $40 more than this mini…. Should have looked at the mini then, but I was so focused on the nano and micro. The micro is only 1 3/4 inches shorter than the mini and it makes a big difference. The mini opening isn’t bad and everything fits without have
ing to maneuver.

They had a couple of medium Russel totes I fondled and sniffed. I don’t have any tote bags. I was worried with it being open, my small stuff would fall out if the bag was tipped over.
i am very interested in the tulip shopper. They didn’t have any.

mom didn’t find anything she wanted. It was cold 🥶. We did walk srounf the entire 150 store outdoor outlet and ended up right at the car which was awesome. Mom made it home and she was happy that I got what I wanted. She said she didn’t see anything in dooney that she liked. I did see the bag my aunt wants but they didn’t have the Carmel color she wanted. I’ll order it online and have them ship it to her in Florida.

i would like to try the smaller domed satchel like your black and navy from the last sale. I’ll keep my eye out for the 12 days of dooney. Also the large hobo.
I have both the Russel and the Tulip Shopper. I prefer the Tulip Shopper.
The Tulip has more of a north/south design (not my preference) but it has a
zip top and is lighter than the Russel.

I own the Flo Russel in both the small and the medium. I don't like the
open top (even tho it has some snaps)... little things can fall out if the bag
falls over. And I generally don't care for an open top handbag.... in any style.

Some people have complained about the short shoulder drop on
the Russel line.... I hand carry, so it isn't a problem for me. But consider that
if you plan to shoulder carry the Russel and also check out the drop on the
Tulip Shopper to be sure it will work for you. Everyone has different preferences
regarding shoulder drop and where a bag sits against the body when it is
on the shoulder. And of course, not all bodies/arms are the same. Some people
need a handbag to 'pass the elbow test' (slip over the arm and elbow onto the
shoulder using only 1 hand) and others don't care if they need to help position
the bag onto the shoulder.

I think I like having a zipper. No one can just reach in my bag. That’s why I love the tilton as opposed to the xl Courtney or cooper hobo.

I don’t like when the top of the bag is in my armpit so I will definitely check the strap drop. I’m not to picky about the elbow test, just as long as the bag isn’t in my armpit I’m good. They did have a few twist strap hobos and I didn’t like the shoulder drop on it. It was smaller than I expected but it was A nice Looking bag.

The outlets haven't had Alto bags for many, many, many years,
and now it seems some of them have Alto again.
Wow, really?! When I was there last week, there were some on the clearance wall.

but how much
do we overlook for a really good price?
I think this is going to depend on the buyer. If someone really wants that oil stain Bristol for $200 versus paying $355 on Dooney (30% BF sale), they’re going to buy it.

For me, I know I could eventually find one in great shape on the resale market for a great price.

I think online shopping plus secondhand sites, have made a lot of us more aware on how to get more bang for our buck.

Twas the week before Black Friday,
And I drove down to Aurora,
On 294 & 88, through construction, traffic & tolls,
Everything was 40% off retail,
But at least $10 more than online,
They had a clearance and sample section,
where I found a Tilton for $209,
However, nothing caught my eye,
I left with a fat duck & valet keychain, and some duck stickers for the fall,
Here’s the pix I took, enjoy them all.
They didn’t have a lot of the bags in your pics. I didn’t see any alto. Since mom was with me and wanted to go to more stores I didn’t take pics like I wanted. I wish I took them of those stained and used looking bags on clearance….
does Anyone know if you purchase online can you return it in store? I didn’t think to ask when I was in there

Some of the bags will relax over time and the shoulder drop will get longer.
But that only happens if you use the bag and the leather softens. So, if shoulder
drop is important to you, I agree it's best to check it out and not compromise
in the hope that over time the bag will work for you. It's like buying tight shoes
and hoping they will stretch, or clothing that's too small hoping we will lose those
extra pounds and the pants will zip up! 😁

When you are in the store with all the bright lights and beautiful (hopefully) handbags
tempting you, it's hard to focus on all the potential handbag issues. It helps if
someone on the forum has posted their experience and you then have it fresh
in your mind. What works for one of us, or doesn't, may help someone else if we
share the reasons why we love/or don't love, a particular style/leather/feature/etc.
That's why this Dooney forum is so great, because posters take the time to
share more than yea or nay.

As I was there with my mom I showed her what I liked and didn’t like about the bags I tried on. She handled the Russell, I thought I had her, alas she said she didn’t see anything she liked. I didn’t know the handles, shoulder drop would stretch and get longer. Thank you for that. I will definitely take that into consideration when trying the bags on. If I would have ordered the twist strap hobo online, I would have sent it back because I felt it was under my armpit. That’s another reason to go to the store, to try the bags on and see what fits.

Isn’t this the Cameron?

I was really liking the Teal one at Aurora, but a lot of scratches on it.
No this isn’t the Cameron. This one is plain. The Cameron has a top half stitch kinda detail. That teal had discolored stains on it. It was the first bag I picked up in the clearance section. As I tilted it in the light I saw it had a large brownish discoloration on the front. Color transfer maybe?
