At what income level did you begin buying VCA?

Thanks for sharing. And wow!! This shade of blue is the perfect shade. I really hope to find one like this. When did you get it? And did you buy it from the boutique? Recent posts I’ve seen of people buying an agate, the shade was always too light for my liking.

How I got my first VCA bracelet

p.s. note that the store lights (and sushi restaurant lighting) make it more royal blue than it actually is

As a "23 year old stay at home wife," what exactly did you want to retire early from?? Just teasing!
As a young bride, it is really up to you and your partner to decide how much of your budget you want to set aside for luxuries, regardless of current income levels. Everyone spends money differently, so where to splurge and when to save is a very nuanced and personal decision.

This is a fascinating topic, and one that I don’t think is unrelated to the proliferation and overexposure of fine jewelry in recent years, most likely due to the rise of super fakes.

Personally, I am glad I waited until my early 30s to really get into fine jewelry and purchases. I started my collection slowly to mark certain milestones in my life (marriage, hitting a milestone net worth, etc). I think had I started purchasing in my 20s, I would have bought a lot of the more daintier versions of products not because of the style, but because of the savings.

As I try to hint strongly to my junior colleagues - every dollar invested in your 20s in index funds go MUCH further than 30s and beyond. Now I am in a much better place to invest in the pieces that truly feel like me.

(Also know myself WAY better now vs in my 20s, but that is another topic altogether.)

I can agree with that. I can definitely look back on my 20s and say I spent too much money! I adore what I’ve purchased but, I definitely should be more mindful as you have. You have been far smarter than me!

Recently, I’ve been purchasing just because of random reasons! Probably because I have a doom and gloom feeling about the future of those in my generation… But, it’s definitely time for me take a break from shopping!
