At what income level did you begin buying VCA?

I wouldn’t say there’s an “income level” to start purchasing VCA, as others have mentioned there are people who save up or receive them as gifts. With the online presence of VCA becoming popular, there’s a lot of good fakes out there where you can’t tell if it’s fake unless it’s very up close. I didn’t start collecting VCA until I was 22 and had a full time job earning a high 5 figure salary with all my priorities taken care of first.

I can agree with that. I personally started buying VCA once I felt that i covered the basics, e.g. no debt, car paid off, etc. then I started splurging. I just made sure I purchased items which I’ll use daily.

Im speaking from the husband who does the buying of all luxury goods...Income level is probably borderline poverty lol j/k. Investments and passive income pay for all the extras in life. I started investing in college and never stopped. Wife makes her own income and she keeps every cent of it. I take care of everything else, including the kids and her expenses. Happy Wife, Happy Life.

I can see that, whatever I have goes towards multiple things. Savings, investing into myself, etc. … I never expected to make my own money, but because I do, I like to invest into myself. I feel that my greatest currency as a woman is my appearance.

Nowadays, with all the stresses and social media distractions, including KIDS, investing in yourself and enjoying the moment is the best thing you can do. I strongly believe joy is what makes life great. So enjoy all your income from that hard work, and turn those funds into anything that brings you joy.

Well, to be honest… My income is entirely partially passive. I have follow the motto of “work smarter, not harder”. It gives me the opportunity to be a SAHW but have my own money to save, invest into myself, etc. I’m wanting one child, so I’m also putting away money for that so my child can start his/her own business. Hopefully I’m being smart, I feel that being 23 and successful comes with financial immaturity and a lot of learning.

Sounds like you are on the road to success.

I did way too much partying in my fraternity and traveled through Europe and around the world starting at 16 since I was a musician. I only started to focus during college, opening up my first company. Best of luck on your journey🤙🏻

Hmmm OT but I think your greatest currency is your intellect...you will not always be 23 :amuse:

Oh cool! I’m a high school drop out. I never thought I’d have success  But now I feel that dropping out of high school was the best decision I could make!

At 23, there are a lot of opportunities for self development. Not sure if you want children but if children are in your plan in the future, it's better to travel a bit first before having them. It's ok to take them to travel trip with you but some children just cannot adjust easily during a journey and some get sick easily during a trip.

Not sure how important it is for you to have material possessions at this point but if I were you, I would splurge on trips and lots of trips, even though it's just short distance road trip can be a lot of fun.

Of course you can still travel at later age but consider the energy, you might not have the energy or same curiosity or courage to venture out or venture further during your trip. Travel allows you to explore cultures, food, meet new people or learn a new language, amaze at nature. If you have the financial freedom and physical freedom, why not travel? It also helps shape your aesthetics thus helping you with your fashion style and jewellery choices especially when you always linger at museums.

For young people, you can stay at hostels, there are female dorms and mixed dorms to choose from. You can exchange travel tips with fellow travelers. Some fellow travellers might want to travel with you. You will never be alone in a journey.

You might also want to take some leisure classes, painting, musical instruments, dancing or take up some sports.

Yeah, I missed some vca pieces ( pieces discontinued, I heard news about that too during that time but I still chose travel instead of rushing to buy them) but no regrets, material things don't interact with you but experience does. Experience gained from Travelling is a "moveable feast"--- just like how Ernest Hemingway puts it.

Of course, save some, spend some. As long as you have set aside some financial security for emergency, you are good to go.
We did the opposite and are now living it up :). I was married at 20 and had 3 kids by age 28. We are 45 and 48 and will be empty nesters this year. We have traveled extensively with the kids and I'm a big advocate of traveling with kids. It opened their minds to the world around us instead of our "bubble world" we live in. They have had to use foreign money, learn to use different types of transportation, and see how others around the world live. They are our best family memories!

I hope you are happy too.Happy spouses equal happy life. I am not a fan of just happy wife lol

I dont have any VCA pieces (yet), as a store only just opened up in my city in December 2023, and i didnt know until march 2024. ive been in twice with my son and i really am so excited to commence this journey with VCA. however i want to really think which pieces i will love for a lifetime. my daughter is due in may 2024, and so will probably wait until after then and see how the "good ol body" is feeling post birth.

in terms of income, my hubby and i are (individually) in the top income tiered tax bracket for our country. we are not in the USA, just for reference, as i know the majority of people on this forum hail from there. we would probably be in the top 5% of income earners in our country (some years if we get a good bonus perhaps top 1%).
so i would say we are quite high.

as always, purchases of luxury good are so much fun. however, they need to be done in a considered fashion so as to be within everyone's unique financial circumstances.

I own 2 Alhambra pieces which I bought after I started making a 6-digit salary, paid for my MBA, and bought an apartment. That said, I do believe it is a matter of your priorities at a particular point in life (assuming all the basics are covered). I got a bunch of jewelry from Tiffany in my mid 20's and then my income was directed to travel the world. I've been to 40+ countries and some places I have visited as many as 50 times. For me, these experiences are worth 100x more than the VCA pieces, though I do enjoy my VCA and wear it almost 24/7.

Me too! I only buy what I wear daily.
