Glad to find a thread for Aspinal here! I recently learned about this brand a couple of months ago and fell in love with the classic and vintage looking designs. They really caught my attention because they’re so different than any other high end bag brand you see nowadays. I happened to come across them when they were having their site wide sale and so took the plunge on the Sasha satchel in smooth tan. I’ve attached a couple of pictures below of the front and back. It’s definitely a small and structured bag so will only fit essentials like wallet, phone, sunglasses, small items etc. The front clasps are magnetic and will lock into place when you push down on the top flap. It does take a bit of effort to open the bag each time as you need to lift both clasps but I knew this going in. It’s marketed as a bag which you can attach to your bike, and so comes with a strap that goes through the back of the bag that you can remove. I don’t use that feature so I’ve just taken it out and there are two holes at the back of the bag but they don’t go all the way through to the inside, there’s an inner lining. The shoulder strap is a nice width and is adjustable and feels comfortable on the shoulder, I also got my initials embossed in gold on the strap. Overall I’ve been really happy with the bag, I bought it because it fits my vintage aesthetic and I never see anyone around where I live with anything similar, and no ones heard of the brand where I live either (not in England). As others have mentioned, the packaging was incredible and felt like I was getting something way more expensive than what I paid. I’m definitely planning on getting a Midi Mayfair as my next purchase and have my eye on the mini hatbox purses as well.

Thinking of getting an AoL bag as my Christmas present to myself (if there have a good sale in December). Would it be weird to get the Union Jack bag, since I'm American rather than British? I do have a lot of ancestors who were British. Would you vote for the Union Jack or the black bag? This would be a travel bag, not an everyday bag.

Union Jack has more character but I wonder how the white portion would age on a travel bag… I would choose the Union Jack One!

Have fun choosing !

They are both cool! I do love the Union Jack version more.
Wouldn't it get heavy to carry though? I personally hate carrying heavy bags.

Ugh, I shouldn't have opened this thread. I've had AoL on my radar for a while and have admired a lot of their bags but never made a purchase. I just went to their website to take a look again, and I'm just drooling over the Chalkhill Blue color. I'm a sucker for anything in a Tiffany Blue-like shade. Some of the bags in this color are even on sale (looks like 30% off), but I can't justify it. The two totes are gorgeous, but I need another tote like I need a hole in the head (I already have 11 totes as it is!). The Trunk is adorable and unlike anything I currently own, but it is definitely on the small side for me and would only be an occasional-use bag, and I can't really justify the price for a bag I'd only use a few times a year, even at the sale price. If, however, it went to 60% off, it may be another story! There is also the camera bag, which actually might make the most sense for me as far as use and practicality. But it's not on sale, and I'm not sure how I feel about the "A" on the front of it. The Midi Mayfair is probably my favorite as far as aesthetics go, but like the Trunk, the size and style would mean it is only an occasional use bag, and it's not on sale so I really can't justify the price for it.

I'm also really loving the Midi Mayfair in the Deep Shine Cherry Ombre. I think it's gorgeous! Same as above though - occasional use and not on sale means I just can't justify it.

I'm so sad because I adore these bags and the colors are divine. I am keeping my fingers crossed the Chalkhill Blues go on deeper discount and the Deep Shine Cherry Ombre also goes on sale because I just might take the plunge then!
